I recently had the pleasure of dining at Pawpaw Cafe and I must say, it was an absolutely delightful brunch experience. From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was warm and inviting, setting the perfect tone for a relaxed and enjoyable meal.
One of the highlights of my experience was the exceptional service provided by Anna and Frida. From the moment she greeted us with a genuine smile, her friendly and attentive nature made us feel truly welcomed. Anna and Frida adroitly guided us through the menu, making excellent recommendations based on our preferences and dietary restrictions.
Not only was her service impeccable, but both staff exuded a genuine enthusiasm for their job. She was knowledgeable about the dishes and ingredients, and her passion for the food was evident in the way she described each item. Her genuine love for her work created a contagious positive energy that made our dining experience all the more memorable and enjoyable.
Anna and Frida's attention to detail was also noteworthy. Their consistently checked in on us, ensuring our glasses were never empty and addressing any additional needs we had. Her genuine warmth and hospitality made us feel like valued guests throughout our visit.
Aside from the exceptional service, Pawpaw Cafe's brunch offerings were absolutely delicious. The menu boasted an impressive selection of both savory and sweet options, catering to a variety of tastes and dietary preferences. The food was beautifully presented, with vibrant colors and fresh ingredients that clearly reflected the cafe's dedication to quality.
In conclusion, my brunch experience at Pawpaw Cafe was nothing short of outstanding thanks to the exceptional service provided by Anna and Frida. Her friendly demeanor, knowledge, and attentiveness truly elevated the experience. I highly recommend visiting this charming cafe, not only for its delectable menu but also for the wonderful team of staff like Frida and Anna who make every visit...
Read moreI have been coming to Pawpaw for years and have always loved the food and service. Unfortunately my visit today didn't match that high level I've always experienced.
After being seated a young waitress started placing our cutlery down, but by grabbing the head of the forks and knives and placing them on the table. We watched as she continued to do this for all the whole table. We ordered some coffees (some with full cream, some alternative milks) which were incorrectly given out by the young waitress not taking the time say what milk the coffee was on. After being given the incorrect coffee, I had to ask for them to remake my order. I ended up asking 3 different wait staff if it was still coming after some time had passed, but was assured it wouldn't be much longer. When the coffee came out I again double checked with her if it was on almond, for her to immediately reply yes. It ended up being full cream milk and again I had to ask for an almond milk cappuccino. I noticed this same young waitress carrying coffees with her fingers on the lip of the cups where people drink from.
I ordered the breakfast burger which I wouldn't recommend. Very overcooked crispy bacon with a chewy egg. Again a bit of a let down contrasting to what I've experienced in the past.
When getting up to pay I asked the waitress at the counter how many coffees we were being charged for to which she replied 7, meaning I was being charged for the extra coffee that had been a mix-up on their part. Was a bit frustrating that no one took the initiative to take this off the bill and I had to follow this up.
I understand wages are high and there is pressure on small businesses, but if you're going to charge an additional 10% on Sundays and put on inexperienced staff then please make sure your service is up to standard. I am sad I won't be recommending Pawpaw to my family and friends after...
Read moreCaught up with some friends and our party of 6 shared 7 dishes so we could try them all: Pawpaw’s signature hash, $22 - potato hash, poached eggs, turmeric hummus, smashed avocado, haloumi, beetroot relish & dukkah fish tacos, $22 - crumbed local barramundi, Asian slaw, Japanese mayo, sambal, Thai laab spices & coriander spring mushroom croquettes, $24 - mixed mushroom, poached egg, avocado, romesco, kale, feta & pepita housemade parmesan gnocchi, $23 - mixed mushroom, kale, black garlic, poached egg & gouda cheese Biscoff French toast, $23 - Biscoff custard, caramelised banana, Biscoff soil & coffee ice-cream chilli popcorn chicken, $16 - with Thai laab spices, lime & mayo tiramisu croffle (weekend special), $22 - croissant x waffle with textures of coffee
Apart from the popcorn chicken which I found quite average, and the tiramisu croffle which is a non-starter for me cos I'm not a fan of coffee flavours, I found the rest of the dishes all pretty solid. If anything I'd maybe pick the hash or tacos as slight favourites.
All up pretty good value at $26 per head for food. I'm still not into western breakfast foods but no regrets about trying it out and I'm happy to recommend it for café style breakfast/brunch dishes if that's what you're after. Would be keen to try one of the curries from their lunch menu though - that stuff is more up my alley!
Notes: one bill per table (they can provide change) card surcharge applies bookings recommended as it gets busy parking can be tricky to find, so allow time for that if driving their customer service game is noticeably strong at all stages before, during, and after the...
