I would have given 5 stars but for our most recent experience last week. First the good - the service is usually lovely (except the incident detailed below), the plants everywhere are so beautiful and peaceful. There is a bit of road noise that echoes inside but the general atmosphere more than makes up for this. Plus there is a quieter back room that when it's not busy is divine to relax in with a cuppa and a book. The food has always been great til now, lovely presentation. This is the part that gets the markdown: When the cob croissant is fresh and warm it's divine. When its a day or more old and cold in the middle it's not so nice. I also ordered a piece of the luscious looking carrot cake on display to go, but was given an obviously older, drier piece. Obvious because the display cake was still uncut, and I touch tested the piece I was given in front of the lady. When I queried the freshness the reply was, "it's been in the fridge". Yep. Sure. But that isn't an answer to the question. The two ladies had a short discussion with each other about me asking about the freshness but there was no further discussion with me or any offer to exchange it for a fresh slice. I shouldn't have to ask for this when I had already called out the truth. The sad thing was we'd been eyeing off that carrot cake for literally years (well not that exact cake, then I really would have got old cake haha) and finally it was the right time for a treat. And it was as disappointing as I'd expected as well as being disappointed by the experience. I know there are cost of living pressures for businesses and many people accept day old items without question so you can get away with it. But when it's called out, the right policy is to exchange or refund, no questions. On this occasion a $5.50 sale was made from a slice of older cake but hundreds in lost profits from us going elsewhere from now on because of it. That ain't gonna help your cost of living cash flow. This has been a rant all over a slice of cake but it's happening in a lot more of places - this was the 3rd instance in a short space of time at 3 different places and...

Ā Ā Ā Read moreBrisbane this is a place to have a look for Plants & have a Coffee. This is āEpiloā. Located in Woolloongabba this is a loft-styled warehouse that feels like a small oasis in the middle of the city. Currently Google Maps rates this spot 4.9 stars.
But before we get into the food & coffee letās check out the plants. I personally love the informative planter labels, that included maintenance suitability and useful information. This beautiful setup is definitely well looked after. With a relaxing ambience. With also a selection of different handmade items, trinkets and more. Find botanical earrings, hand made ceramics, candles and propagation vases.
But let talk coffee and snacks. Open 7am to 2pm Tuesday to Sunday this is a breakfast/lunch/brunch spot that offers small plates and coffee. Once you have ordered from the counter you can take way or sit, outside, inside downstairs or upstairs with a view of the plants. They also have self fill water. I treated myself to a hot chocolate and caramel tart and the presentation was lovely. With a delicious added brownie piece on the spoon and edible flower decorating the tart. I also did see they had an offer for homemade pumpkin soup with sourdough which sounded delicious. This is nice spot for casual meetups and cosy wind downs. They also offer terrarium workshops and paint and sip sessions which you can book through...
