We been there at the end of the July month for my husbands 50th. Pathetic wait staff. Even after sending a request via email for the nice spot as it was only 3 of us celebrating my husbands 50th, they made us sit just near the door. Whereas on arrival when I expressed my displeasure and asked them for the another spot, the wait staff lady said oh it’s place for 5 and already booked.

I did not fuss as no one wants to ruin the evening. A few moments later that table people arrived and only 3 of them. I was furious in my head but didn’t want my family to have an unpleasant evening.

Staff is specialised in selective behaviour which I was observing. I had been to almost all the places in Paddington and our family favourite is for sure the next place famous Italian however we wanted to give this place a go and what a big mistake.

Today we went to our favourite place for my daughters 16th again booking via email and boy oh boy not only like every another time they were warm and attentive and welcoming and assigned us the perfect place as requested but they made sure to celebrate our daughters birthday by surprising her with a cake.

It doesn’t take much to make one feel welcomed, be kind and welcoming and not just doing business because you lost a customer and the good will. Because people forget the bad ambience and bad food but never how they were...

I see all these great reviews and I am so disappointed that I didn't have the same experience. Firstly, we arrived and taken to our table, I asked the girl about the wines as we dont know much about Italians wines. She had no idea, which is fine, and said she would get Pepi to assist us. Half hour later he arrives and we ordered a nice bottle, which took 20 minutes to get to our table. We ordered cheese garlic bread where the outside was amazing the inside was burnt and uneatable. Then we had ordered a pizza first and pasta second.....both came together. The pizza was soggy by the time we got to it. The pasta was undercooked, and I didn't enjoy it, our guest hardly touched there's. Also our guest drinks took forever to get to the table.

We wanted this night to be special as we were meeting a couple as well, on our suggestion. Their drinks took ages to get to the table. We were there until 10pm, having got there at 6.30pm which was fine.... but it was so frustrating. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone. So disappointing.

Service: we booked a table inside for two, only to be seated outside. My seat was back to back against another stranger with about 10cm gap between the chair and the table. Rather than adjusting the table or chairs for us so I can actually sit down (I'm only a small person), the staff left us to our own device, having to shuffle table ourselves awkwardly. We ordered two entrees and two mains. While it already took 20 mins for the entrees to serve, we waited for another hour for our mains. It was only after chasing up (multiple times) that our food was served.

Food: The food was mediocre at best. The chips that came with the steak were cold and soggy. Probably could get a better steak from a steakhouse with a much better experience. The pizza was tolerable, but some parts near the crust were undercooked.

Admostphere: the only redeemable factor for this place was the guitarist. His music kept me sane for the evening, or else I would have left before the mains were even served.

Overall, if you are not hungry and would like to try a mediocre Italian place, feel free to book a table and wait at least 40 mins for your food (on average). Otherwise,...
