Small menu with tasty dishes. Would give a higher rating however had an issue with the service on my visit. I asked for the prawn and tomato gnocchi and some other meals. I also asked if I could get some olive oil for my bread and the waitress said yes. When the 'prawn' gnocchi came out we were a bit confused as there was no prawn in it, we thought it might be a prawn infused sauce. Also I received no olive oil which was also confusing. The dish had olives in it, and when I went to pay I noticed there was an olive and tomato dish, which is what we had received instead of the prawn one (which the waitress said does not come with olives). I wasn't too annoyed, but when I explained the mistake the waitress had made to her, she just said she has misheard me, and did not even apologise. My girlfriend was alot more disappointed then me, as she was looking forward to trying the prawn dish. As we are students it will be awhile until we can eat out again so I was a little disappointed. We didn't want to make a big fuss about it, but the waitresses response came across as rude and dismissive, despite the fact she had confused my request for olive oil for the olive dish. Communication skills could use some improvement, sad it took away from the great...

Sad to say that this place went from my favourite take away to very disappointing.
Everything got more expensive and cheese is no longer part of the gnocchi meal. Gnocchi without cheese? What is this?
Now I can purchase so called shaved "Parmesan" for extra money, and it's even more unfortunate that it doesn't taste good nor does it melt on the gnocchi. Big fat no no.
And I second the thing about the bread, it's pretty bad. It's pretty bad to pay extra for low-quality cheese and chewy bread. Especially in an Italian restaurant.
Recently the meals have also been inconsistent depending on chef. Sometimes it's super tasty other times it's really not good.
The chips are fabulous (although it seems a bit strange that they're on the menu) and the tiramisu is pretty decent.
In the shop, staff are usually pleasant. But if you dine in, I recommend you use your restroom at home, as the couple of times I have used theirs it was pretty unhygienic with pee all over the seat and floor (the shop had only just opened)
Anyhow, the price increase and cheese thing is pretty off-putting and disappointing. I get that things get more expensive, but the cheese was a step too far.

Read moreAfter years of ordering gnocchi here, I’m sad to say that I’ve been consistently disappointed with the front of house service. Phone manners are dreadful, we haven’t received very good customer service overall & the past few orders have had minor, yet really frustrating errors. We travel half an hour to pick up our food each time we order and it’s a real pain each time lately to have to go back because they put the wrong drinks in or there was hair on the bread. The gnocchi is very tasty and consistently delicious which is why it’s upsetting that the front of house ladies are quite abrupt and come across rude. I don’t appreciate asking if the cutlery that I paid for was put in the bag, to be told with full assurance that “yes it is” so I physically check it before I leave the restaurant and guess what? No cutlery or napkins that I had paid for. No apology either but when we told her that no there wasn’t cutlery in the bag, she proceeded to poke her nose in our takeaway bag to confirm if we were lying? How rude. As if I’d want to steal 20 cents worth of plastic. And then to find a hair on our bread just topped it off really. Quite disappointing! Used to be a tradition to enjoy this place on our...
