Sprezzatura is an old Italian concept word that is defined as an "effortless elegance", and for such a refined Italian word comes a refined Italian street-food outlet, Sette, where oodles of sprezzatura just oozes from this Caxton street wonder.

It's not hard to see why Italian bothers Roberto and Pablo (or for the unlearned Aussie, Paul and Rob) who run the show, claim their five star digital rating on Google, it's because these guys are truely magnifico!

On a Wednesday night, there honestly aren't many options to secure a feed, especially when you are making an attempt to sneak out of the monthly Ruckus poetry slam meets at Lefty's. However, Sette is remnant of a desert food oasis that emits a shining light of delectable hope on the Caxton street horizon.

You wouldn't think much of the place just by walking past, and that's probably because New York slice pizza has contributed to the desecration of fun in late-night street food vendoring, and although Sette has a slight resemblance to New York Slice, the brothers Pablo and Roberto really set the two establishments well apart.

The service is not just friendly, it's family, and one of a kind.

And kind, kind is the kind of word that distinguishes these two Italian gents, because it's plain to see they truely have hearts of gold.

As a relatively lonely person, it was a pleasing experience to be welcomed into their little world of fun and function. After investing some time in friendly banter with the boys, I was enchantedly whisked away to Italy and felt like I was somewhere else for a moment, but, with two long lost friends.

If the service wasn't A-Class, then Sette would still make itself known because the secret recipe the boys use to make the pizza is the best in Brisbane. I haven't had a better dough in Brisbane since I moved here 15 years ago, and fortunately for them, the service is also A-Class!

A Win win for the customer!

Everything can be made fresh to order, or you can choose from a selection of pre-made options readily available for the weary night traveller rushing to get the last bus home. Pablo made me a super-tasty vegetarian pizza with capsicum, mushroom, tomato, mozzarella, and Kalamata olives.

Yum!

Although I forgot to ask about the history of the name Sette, the fact that this business is driven by pride in honesty, love, humour, and a good measure of community spirit, really "settes" them apart. See what I did there?

Sette is under the Gambaro enterprise and is also affiliated with the Black Hide steak restaurant next door. Pablo and Roberto work for the Gamabro group, but Sette is authentically the spirit of Pablo and Roberto through and through.

This little slice of heaven wouldn't be the same if it weren't for the small cheesy Italian mob within its late-night walls.

Sette brings a brief feeling of home away from home when you feel all alone, so grab a slice, and make sure you're nice.

Thanks for a great feed and a friendly chat fellas, god bless and...

Amazing pizza.. could not believe how fresh ingredients are . Such a prestige area of brisbane. Best pizza great price. Well done. 6 stars for you guys.. I am editing review . 7 October Friday 2022 could not of been more impressed with the love of food and and love of customer service. A true credit to the boys and the way they were raised. If you like a true hot pizza , or a Hawaiian. That was beyond amazing. Seriously the best I have had, since the last time I was there. I have been to fifteen different pizza place since the last review. . But guess what, it was better, if that was possible. How many places have we gone to that where amazing.. then be let down from cost cutting owners. I was shocked.. Sette pizza is still the real deal.. so impressed....Edited again 4 August 2023..Well were do I start, they have Kabads Now!! So yummy blown away.. Best kabad I have had for twenty years a true credit to the boys. My misses was blown away with the flavours. Wow. If you do nothing in life, experience there food. Better then sex.. Love...

I have tried single slices and they were ok, but this time i got the "sette bello"pizza delivered and i fell for it. If the pizza was made exactly the way they described it, it would have been...wooooow! Supposed to have: pancetta, if it wasn't bacon, then they literally ONLY put the fat part of it Fried basil where?! Normal basil put it at the end of it, so soft as it comes Roasted potato, literally 5 fries on it. Please don't deceive us, we pay to receive at least what you advertise for. Disappointing! The...

Can this place work out when it's open and when it's not? I've come down here again today during its advertised opening hours (refer google and the sign at the front of the venue) and it is (of course) closed! It's very irritating. Guys, don't care if you only want to open between the hours or 6pm-6.15pm every second Tuesday - just be open when you communicate you will be. Actually not that hard!

Tried a couple of the slices of pizza and had to come back a second time in the same night before I head back to my own city, couldn't let myself leave the state without having some more! The kind owner insisted on giving me a free water as well. I know I'll be back whenever in Brisbane next.
