We went along at lunchtime to give the first drive through 'Grilled' in Australia a go .
We decided to take a table. There was only one other table of people at that time .. lunch time. We had to leave our table to go inside to order, standing and lining up... all a bit of a long process, not very comfortable or convenient for a 'time out' lunch together. Lining up, standing and ordering at a counter is not really conducive. Maybe okay for a single person by themselves? The burgers were really small.. quite a shock. The flavours and textures were fine but what we had on the plate was very expensive for the amount of food we received.
We ordered a few different types of burgers, also chips. The alcoholic drinks were quite limited in style and type so made quite a few compromises to what we would normally expect to be available.
We shared a few meals so as to try out the various types of burgers on offer. Bonfire burger was the best. The others were underwhelming. Unfortunately we were still hungry at the end of the meal time. Very small burgers!!
There is both indoor an outdoor seating. It's great that the outdoor seating has gas burners to keep you warm as it was quite windy on the day we went. The staff members all had a pleasant manner.
The place has a nice feel but it's very, as we used to say 'Coles cafeteria'/ lineup, pay your money, while others you are dining with wait by themselves.
We didn't feel that the prices matched the quantity of food although the quality of food was ok.
Won't be hurrying back as there is not enough appeal and other good local options for a burger or two.
Having said that I wish the owners well in there endeavours. Sorry ..Have to say as one finds. Missing Hungery Jack's! Six dollars gave a good fast deal for a burger...
Read moreVery hit and miss with the food at Grilld Mount Ommaney. 50% of the time the food is hot, fresh and really delicious. The other 50% is really disappointing. We eat here often and we have our regular orders. My son loves having the Healthy Chicken Bites and a burger. We always have to double check the number and size of the bites. Often we get one or two pieces in a serve that are literally the size of a small fingernail which is super disappointing when they cost over $1 a piece.
We’ve also stopped ordering sweet potato fries as we’ve often received dry stale ones, or a bucket of very small pieces from the bottom of the bag that have no real potato to them. Or alternatively we get really oily soggy ones that are just inedible. This is really disappointing. The sauces too, have got really small. Instead of the small tub being filled up with sauce for $1.40, they just put a tiny dollop inside the container. This is just enough for a couple of bites and no more. Obviously a cost cutting measure. To their credit the staff are always super friendly and attentive, and happy to provide us with a replacement if we bring something to their attention.
The atmosphere when dining in seems to be more catered for the staff working there than the customers. The music is always way too loud and the air conditioning is freezing. And you can’t seem to find a spot in the restaurant away from it! That’s probably why we rarely see many people dining in.
When they do a good job with the food it’s great and we love it. And the staff are always super friendly. But you just never know what you’re...
Read moreMy meal today, mid-afternoon lunch 30 Jul 23, was possibly the most dissatisfying burger meal I've ever had! Not just from Grill'd, but from anywhere! For starters, the burger was not made with the bun selection I ordered (got the traditional instead of the panini), the meat patty was lukewarm and hardly had that 'freshly grilled' taste or feel to it and lacked flavour. Some of the chips were hot and some cold, as if the serving had been put together with some freshly cooked ones and some that had been sitting left over from the last batch. I left half the meal on the plate and the most value for money came from the bottle of water I had. At the price you're charging, your customers should be able to expect a lot more. Other burger joints in the area are providing a far superior product, consistently! Grill'd @ Mt Ommaney, you can't just ride on the coat tails of Grill'd's brand and reputation. Get over the fact that you're the first drive-thru Grill'd in Australia, that's no big deal. There's a lot of room for improvement and I won't be coming back any time soon. Probably should have gone next door to that place that has the slogan 'the burgers are...
