Update: Still some inconsistencies, and i haven't given the pork belly a third go. However, the vibe and friendliness are constant. Tried the gibson steak, which was so good that i went back to have it again the next night. Tad opulant at $50, and my diet may be flavoured rice for the rest of the week. However, it was that good :) Also went to trivia on tuesdays - fun night. This place is a great add to the community and is becoming our regular. ≈================= New place so may be teething issues. Food mostly very good, though the pork belly I ordered based on the one I saw on another table was a poor cousin at best No cracking, way more fat than meat. Very inconsistent. Service, very friendly and keen to make people feel welcome. Table placement needs some thought as there was no space for wait staff to pass between me and a table placed in the middle of the dining area. Not a lot of thought by the person deciding that was a good idea.. Overall, its ok with potential to be very good. I want this place to succeed and our new local. Hoping to update with a better score from next visits

The venue is nice and it has so much potential. It would be great to have the option of ordering with a QR code at the table so you don’t have to line up at the kitchen window for 10 minutes when it’s busy. The starters came out about 3 minutes before our main so we had all food on the table and no time to relax in between courses. The bruschetta came out but we weren’t given any side plates. It was impossible to share this without tomato all over the table so we asked for plates. The salad was only dressed on the top layer. Not very appetising. You could eat a few bites and the rest was just a bowl of dry lettuce. The sauce that came with a $50 steak was about 2 tablespoons. This was only enough sauce to cover half the steak. Disappointing. The schnitzel was great but quite small in comparison to other pubs. The chips were also delicious, as was the aioli. My husband thoroughly enjoyed the steak. We would definitely go back. It has a great atmosphere but a few minor tweaks are needed to improve the customer experience.

We had a quick dinner here with a couple of friends on a recent Friday night. It looks very festive as you come up the path to the front door. The restaurant is bright and airy, great for families, very friendly staff, and food came out promptly. You have to order at the bar and counter for food yourself, which can be chaotic though! People all over the place, no proper queuing. And the QR codes were no longer available. We ate a mushroom burger, fish and chips, a steak sandwich, and a jacket potato with steak. Chips were great - crispy and salty, the burger had pesto and sauce which were very welcome. My steak sandwich was pretty good except for the actual steak which was like old boots. I left most of the meat behind. The jacket potato was undercooked and unpleasant said our friend. Fish and chips fine. A pleasant meet-up with friends but maybe the food needs a bit of tweaking? We are very happy to see the old bowls club being used so happily by so many tho.

If u could give minus 5 stars I would

Service was absolutely appalling the staff clearly hate their jobs and take that out on their customers , payed $70+ for two meals that were tasteless & dry. No drinks were included in the price.

I spoke with Andrew on the phone to rectify this issue and was faced with extremely poor customer service & attitude…. As a business owner myself I found Andrew’s customer service extremely unprofessional . Asked me several times what the issue with the food was and couldn’t take any feedback without getting defensive. I asked for a refund on my order and was told he couldn’t allow that and offered a “voucher” I will not be returning to a place that charges $70 for something that tastes like literal garbage or eat at a restaurant where the owner gets angry when a customer complains about the horrible experience.

Ordered a steak with prawns that were so distasteful I couldn’t eat them, the chips tasted like they had sat out for a week, and the parmigiana was dry and tasted foul….. absolutely no effort made to entice returning customers.

Was unable to finish either of the meals as they were tasteless & dry.

Also there was an incredibly intoxicated man at the entrance who was harassing everyone who walked by. Was absolutely blind drunk and made me extremely uncomfortable as a young female.

Save your hard earned money and eat literally anywhere else these people have no idea on how to run a business, cook or how to resolve customer complaints.

Will not be returning, do not eat here unless you want to be disappointed

Do better...

Really wanted to like this place because it’s so cute coming in. But boy oh boy, management was not it tonight.

I understand wait times can be long especially with an event, but having the manager come to us and say not to “abuse” the staff when all we communicated was if the chefs could pick up the pace a little when we were in the dark about our food was not the way to go. We had not been warned that there would be a 45 minute wait when we had placed our order. We were only told when we checked in with a waitress for our food at the 35-40 min mark.

Consistency with communication from staff at the very start, and a more gentle approach by asking questions and actually listening about what the concerns are goes a long way. Maybe it was a stressful night? Who knows. I love a manager who’s there for her staff, but the choice of words was not it. It made people heated, when it could have been avoided so much earlier. So awkward for everyone around.

Feedback is feedback, it’s nothing personal nor is it abuse. Your kitchen needs better organisation with food (maybe it’s a lack of staff?), that’s it. Maybe also have your staff check in with tables who are waiting rather than standing around in big groups by the kitchen chatting. Saw a staff member flip someone off (maybe a friend, maybe a coworker) whilst there, it’s really not a good look for such a nice looking establishment.

Hope this place improves. Don’t go on trivia/event nights if you want to...

Second review- After a year my family visited this venue again, honestly I wish it wasn’t so long between drinks as we live 5mins from the place but now I remember why we haven’t rushed back… the service of staff at the bar is so lack lustre, like the staff are there to serve customers right so do happily! Also maybe do some more training with staff of how the member program works, each staff member gave different responses! And $5 for a lemonade .. surely this is criminal! We ate food this time- the squid was tasty, the baked Brie was woeful, the driest crackers I’ve ever tasted! The kids cheese burger was gross, if I had a dog I wouldn’t even serve it to it! Dry meat patty, cheese not melted and just no effort made, kids deserve to eat happily too guys! To my family the only redeeming feature for this place is the grass area for the kids to run a muck on.. that’s it sadly!

First review- Look the place has great potential, I do like the vibe and decor but.. the staff need some personality. And if you truely wish to attract families and be part of the community like it states in the blurb of the menu then a few tweaks need to be made.. Friday night food needs to start earlier and a simple wall mount change table for the kiddos in the bathroom wouldn’t go astray. Re the food I saw up to four different family groups go to McDonald to get snacks.. wouldn’t you...
