The management and staff (as at the 23rd of March 2022) need to understand the legislation regarding the Covid-19 requirements for entry. I was stopped at the door and refused entry. I was told that I couldn't enter without the check in app setup on my mobile phone.
I tried showing the female staff member my COVID-19 digital ID from the Medicare app as well as a PDF of my IHS from Medicare stating I have been vaccinated three times.
The woman at the door was just horrible and wouldn't listen and just rudely pointed towards the door and said "mate you cannot enter if you dont scan the barcode".
Proof of vaccination may be printed or electronic, and can be any of the following:
The Check In Qld app. A immunisation history statement. (IHS) A COVID-19 vaccination digital certificate.
I spoke with the manager today on the phone and I felt that he didn't really understand the legislation as well and the numerous methods that can be used for proof of vaccination set out by the State Government. It appeared to me that he didn't want to accept any responsibility by saying we can refuse your entry if we want, side-stepping the real situation completely because he didn't want to own up to his own lack of knowledge/incompetence as well as his staff. I've been going to the Stafford Tavern regularly for over 24 years, I could honestly say more than a 1000+ visits by myself and with lots of other people. I have got to know some of the staff on a first name basis over the years. We wont be going there ever again after this rude treatment.
If you cannot do your job properly and follow government rules and at least treat your long term senior patrons with respect, get out of the industry and let someone have the job that can do it properly. You've burned many years of future business with us. I hope the owner reads this review and speaks...

The vegetables were somewhat bitter with what I felt was a somewhat "chemical" aftertaste. It was fairly unpleasant, though edible. Possibly, the only thing on the plate worth eating was the mash. They run trivia here on a Monday night, which gets a moderate crowd. The questions are not my particular cup of tea, however, with emphasis on subjects such as sport, history, music, and current affairs. When hard science topics come up, the questions are usually so easy as to be not worth having asked, but when the humanities topics come up, they are often quite obscure. I expect this is because the person or persons preparing the quiz are exercising unconscious bias toward those whose knowledge and experience are similar to their own. I expect this will suit some people well while others, such as myself, will find it quite off-putting. There are reasonably well maintained pool tables here but the area they are in closes at 9:00 pm, which makes it difficult to enjoy a few games after a meal or Trivia. So I went what should be a simple and easy parmigiana, which no pub should get wrong.
Simply the worst parmigiana I’ve ever had in my life. Being 52, I’ve had a few pub parmas. Smallest chicken breast I’ve eaten from a pub. It was about palm sized, that is how small it was.
It’s like they’ve gone Coles for the cheapest crumbed breast, microwaved it and served it up. It was overcooked on the edges, so with a small breast, barely anything was edible. Covered it up with tomato sauce, ham and cheese hoping you’d not notice. Overcooked, where the edges were like eating cardboard, with about 4-5cm of actual edible chicken. Laughable it was that bad.
They need to get a new cook and supplier. One of the worst pub meals in my lifetime. Feel sorry for the front staff, when their kitchen pumps this garbage out. Highly likely won’t be back. Horrid and extremely disappointing...
