You know when you eat a meal, and you're just like ". . .well that was ok"? That summed up my meal at Mad Mex.
Now if you're coming to an airport food court expecting a get a decent meal, you've already set yourself up for disappointment. That being said, I had fairly low expectations for Mad Mex, and I was certainly not let down. I did, however, hold to the inkling that "Mexican" (or rather Tex-Mex) food is typically hard to make not-tasty. That was my demise.
As I knew in the back of my mind, the burrito was just edible. It was a fairly tasteless combination of 70% rice mixed with shredded cheese, a watery salsa and some meat that SHOULD have been the star of the burrito, but was just lost in the whole melange of tasteless filling. The chips and guac held the same results as the burrito - very average.

I...
Read moreI just had the most bizarre experience at the Brisbane Domestic airport Mad Mex. I ordered what I usually order from Mad Mex, nachoes, beef, beans, rice, melted cheese, med salsa, corn, jalapenos, lettuce, guac, cheese and pico de galo. Except the man that started my order was confused as to why I wanted rice, and then the girl that finished my order said that because I already had melted cheese, I wasn't allowed to have shredded cheese.. I said well that must be a new rule because I always have both and she just said she's beenhere the whole time.... I'm usually charged an additional $2 for the shredded cheese, which is fine, but not being allowed to have...
