Food is good, although I think their breakfast menu is best when compared to their other meal time choices. Sort of on par with Chicken Fry Master (if you're familiar with that small chain).
On to the negatives:
I eat here regularly and while the shop is often very quiet with few customers/take aways service is often slow. Not sure if due to pandemic staffing issues but even precovid I don't recall it being that fast.
The other area is if any member of your party is unable to wear a mask or hasn't been able to (for appropriate medical reasons) get a covid vaccine, you should know that this venue is very aggressive at ejecting customers even where said person has a valid exception. In this case I can not recommend, especially as it's often the disabled, enfeebled and very elderly who fall into this category.
We're all in this together and these rules exist to keep us safe. However some tact and kindness when enforcing these will go a lot further than being aggressive and punching down on the most vulnerable (Although this could just be language difficulties or poorly trained wait staff).
In conclusion: It's a shame that these sorts of Taiwanese home cooking places are disappearing as I love this kind of food, but I guess it's hard to ask customers to pay restaurant prices for meals; many can prepare at home.
If you're like me and you're too lazy to cook at home and you love this kind of homely Taiwan food (and you're not vaccine exempt)...
Read moreWent to this shop a total of 3 times, and I always forgot to take pics. This time, I took photos of 2 dishes, but I forgot about others, which was served later. I always tried different food to experience the taste. Very authentic taiwan food, taste is excellent and price is reasonable. Always take away their famous mushroom minced meat rice. Also, today, purchase $200 worth of vouchers, which comes together with a fan club card that can have further discounts. If you do not wish to buy voucher, the card itself is $30.
Tried food.
This is my favourite restaurant in the area.
I'm no health enthusiast, but it seems clear that the owner balanced both health and taste when designing their menu, unlike other Taiwanese restaurants that overindulge in the use of oil, salt and grease.
Their food portions are fair. Some people complain about the pricing which is slightly higher than local competitors. However, this is more than made up by the better quality.
I would totally recommend this place to anyone who likes Taiwanese or Chinese food!
My personal favourite dish here is the grilled Maryland chicken. Their fried fish and hotpot is also pretty good, along with a great breakfast menu.
I do hope that maybe one day, some of the more popular breakfast menus can be available during...
