APPALLING STAFF!
If i could give no stars i would have done so. We paid almost $200 to get abused! I ddnt realise I walked into a Karens Diner!
We were okay with the food i guess ( it was tasteless and bland) and when the girl asked us how it was, we spoke the truth and tried give constructive criticism about how disappointed we were about the lack of taste there was and also about how the other girl rushed us out and took our plates in a hurry and told us to pay, in which the other girl came rushing towards the front counter, she got really defensive really fast and went after my partner and my friend and wouldn't even let her talk (we were calm and speaking nicely so I asked her why she was yelling at my friend) they even followed us out the door and decided to THREATEN us and throwing out RACIST and RUDE comments to which my friend then got offended and told her to go back inside the shop! In no way is an employee suppose to speak to anyone let along a customer in the work place in such a rude manner!! They took a 7:30pm booking just to rush us and make us out, and then blaming us for coming in at 7:30 yelling at us saying “well next time come earlier!” Who in the right mind would want to come back after they way were MIStreated!
6months ago there was a customer who experienced the same thing, I have added a screen shot of the owners response. There are also responses on peoples reviews saying he is not authentic Mexican food as most Mexican places ( probably referring to taco bell, gyg maybe lol) is tex-mex when on the website it states “A TASTE OF MEXICO” !!
I have never been so disgusted with the way we were treated. Please train your staff like you said you were going to 6 months ago, as this is one of the main reasons businesses fail in this industry.
Also She wouldn't even give me her name.
I wish I had captured the way we were spoken to so you could all see the way these people mistreat their customers!
Not only that, they were laughing so loudly about it in the kitchen as we were leaving! Again! DISGUSTING BEHAVIOUR!

Booked via phone, they accepted our booking, we came, sat down, ordered, the food came in record time, and then we were rushed out at 8pm when they close at 8:30pm. The waitress hurled obscene and racist slurs, used profane language and hand gestures, and threatened us when we expressed our dissatisfaction, providing them with gentle constructive criticism, regarding the food and service, when they asked for our feedback.
Montezumas, not sure where your business morals and ethics lie, but I’m sure this is the face of your business you are not wanting to depict. Treating your patrons with disrespect! Your customers and their experience must come first, in any hospitality establishment. This staff member has hurt your reputation immensely.
Food - I would encourage you to train your chefs on how Mexican food is made! For a Mexican restaurant that should indulge and froth with flavour, all three dishes we received were flavourless, tasteless, and absolutely bland, and again, came out in record time, as if there was no effort in quality but more of a “lets quickly feeds these people, and get them out so we can go home” vibe!
If your restaurant opens till 8:30pm, your advertising your venue so patrons can dine till this time. Being forced out after spending almost $200 for flavourless food, and being abused, and receiving racial discrimination, not tolerated!
There is no way for ANYONE to be spoken to the way my fiancé, my business partner, and I were spoken to. We are disgusted, disturbed, and quite frankly hurt too.

I attended a 50th birthday at Montezuma’s Mt Gravatt on Saturday night & was blown away by how good it was.
When younger I used to frequent Montezuma’s on a regular basis, but haven’t been in years.
Now I’m wondering why I stopped going.
The menu was a mix of classic dishes which I remembered well & new options.
I started with the Jalapeno Poppers, which were oven baked & not deep fried.
They therefore had all the taste without the grease. Honestly they were the best poppers I have every had.
Then for old times sake I had the number 27, the Durango. This was my old standard.
I had forgotten how large it was & couldn’t finish it, no matter how hard I tied.
In-between courses we worked our way through the different types of Margaritas. My favourites were the Chilli infused & the Jalapeno Mango. Both had a spicey kick but hadn’t lost the crispness of a traditional margarita.
The staff delivered our birthday cake covered in sparklers at exactly the right time, whilst singing happy birthday to the birthday girl.
All the meals were delicious & excellent value for money in a day and age where value counts. I don’t know how they do it for the price, a counter meal at my local is more expensive, much smaller & nowhere as good.
The best part of the whole experience was the staff. They were very friendly & upbeat & nothing was too much trouble. They made Julie feel special on her birthday & encouraged us all to have a good time, without feeling embarrassed or self-conscious. They even let us wear the Sombrero’s on the walls.
