There's been a bit of turnover in this shop space so hopefully these guys will be able to last. Food is decent and reasonable value.

We ordered: assorted katsu meal, $22 - pork loin + pork tender lion + king prawn 1pc; served with rice, salad, and miso soup hire curry, $13.50 - pork tenderloin extra cabbage salad, $2 extra chicken katsu, $8

The assorted katsu is their signature dish and a great choice for a first timer since you get to try a variety of their katsu protein options. Having said that, personally I'd just stick to the rosu-katsu (pork loin) next time, as I enjoyed this the most. This cut has more fat compared to the tenderloin which I found a touch dry, so appreciated the better mouthfeel and fuller flavour of the rosu.

All katsu pieces we had were fried well and my meal set was served with some sesame seeds in a separate bowl for DIY grinding - just be careful about entrusting this to young and overly eager hands as they might lose some of the load! There are instructions on the table about what to do - basically grind then add tonkatsu sauce, and use this as a dip for your katsu. The set also includes a small amount of wasabi and pink salt, which you can use to accentuate the taste of your katsu.

I would say that the chicken katsu and king prawn are both fairly competent, and make for solid choices if you're after a non-pork option, but the pork loin is the winner for me. There's also a version with cheese which is stated on the menu as their best tonkatsu, though the addition of onion and capsicum in this variant may not be appealing to some. Might try it and see for myself.

The curry probably isn't anything exceptional but it is pretty decent for the price point. Overall we enjoyed our meal here and will be back for sure. The boy ate more than his usual amount so that's testament to the food we had!

PS. There's a 5% cash discount for food (excludes...

I am a huge fan of Japanese food. Good reviews about this new restaurant led me to visit here and I finally made it. I ordered Veggie roll set and Chicken katsu set. I am afraid to say this time my experience at this restaurant was UNDER average. I attached photos and want to say more.

*Veggie roll set with Udong *

Photo looks yummy but this was the worst veggie roll I ever eaten. Roll has a few of cucumber and squeezed(?) avocado. Only two veggies. I wish they put more veggies like carrot or beet. Veggie roll doesn't look yummy because of its color. I recommend you(restaurant owner) put more COLORFUL veggies. Also I wish you put fresh washed onion on the top of roll. Who put fried onion on the roll?? It does not match at all.

Also they have only one vegetarian menu and I hope they have more vegetarian menus like veggie bowl.

I do not know what was the intention to put big radish inside of the Udong, but its broth was not enough close to authentic Udong(which means it was NOT delicious) Besides noodle was not chewy texture, but mushy and soggy.

Chicken Katsu *

I am not sure what kinds of base seasoning they use, but when I chew chicken, I felt so sour flavor and it lasts until I finish my meal(actually I did not eat all of them but my partner finished instead of me). Rice was not warm but cold. The only thing I loved from meal set was sesame dressing and Miso soup.

Today was just too disappointing and it was under average to me. The reason why I put 3 stars is I can see they tried to make food presentation close to Authentic Japanese style and the owner mama was too kind with smile.

I really hope this restaurant accept critical reviews and try to make food flavor better. Fyi, atmosphere in this restaurant is nice and clean but music...

Edit for second visit: made a reservation online but despite the e-mail confirmation, the restaurant never received it. The restaurant was full and we were promised the next available table. By that time, we had already found another place to dine at. Please fix your online system. If it doesn't work, remove it and offer an alternative. Same with the pre-order. This was a disappointing experience hence the lowered score.

Original review: I brought my family here for the first time to celebrate my dad's milestone birthday. I utilised the pre-ordering system which unfortunately did not work. Once the staff realised what had happened, they were very apologetic. Whilst we did not mind, they were very kind in compensating for the misunderstanding.

The food arrived in no time at all and we were floored by the generous portions. We ordered the seafood Udon, fish katsu, assorted seafood katsu and rosu katsu. The seafood Udon did not shy away from the seafood which was a dominating feature. The batter on all the katsu was light and crunchy and did not overwhelm the freshness of the food underneath which was of good quality. We were all ready to be rolled out of the restaurant afterwards.

It's a small restaurant with a calm atmosphere, the staff were friendly and efficient, and the food really speaks for itself. Despite the glitch in the system, it did not take away from a wonderful celebration and we all left very happy.

I will be back with more people in...
