Frying chicken wings or chicken pieces is one thing, but it's quite another to fry a whole chicken. This is the dish I came for and boy did it deliver!
The chicken was super juicy inside and had a great crusty, crunchy fried shell covering all that goodness. Superbly executed and I would totally recommend getting some of this chicken action.
It's not much more than a little hole in the wall eatery, and I'm surprised they've managed to squeeze in the tables and seats that are there. This is a place best for singles and couples IMO - larger groups will need to consider splitting up (if there's even enough spare seats) or getting takeaway to enjoy at home.
We arrived for an early weekday lunch and took our seats on the bar/stool area.
Our order: Yesnal tongdak, $26 - traditional whole fried chicken Okonomiyaki (side), $5 Udon noodles add on, $4 Sweet potato noodles add on, $4
Total $39 for a higher protein/lower carb meal for 2. The wait staff seemed a bit surprised at our add on request, confirming multiple times before walking away...
I'm not sure what the concern was cos the way I see it this is exactly like getting a meat dish to share and pairing it with some rice, except we were getting noodles instead of rice.
Anyways, portion wise it worked well and we were very satisfied with this meal. The name manjok (만족) in Korean means "satisfied", and I'm happy the place lived up to...
Read moreI recently visited this restaurant based on a friend's recommendation. My first impression was surprising, as the place is quite small and cozy. Honestly, the food here was overwhelmingly better than any restaurant I've been to in Brisbane. From braised short ribs and spicy seafood soup (jjamppong) to traditional fried chicken and spicy pork cartilage rice balls, I've tried almost every dish on the menu over the past few months, and every single one has been a hit!
The staff was incredibly friendly, which left a lasting impression. One time, I arrived a bit early to pick up my food, and while I was told I had to wait 5–10 minutes, they apologised and even gave me a can of soda. That gesture was truly impressive and highlighted their exceptional kindness.
If you’re looking to experience the best taste, quality, and service, I highly recommend this Korean restaurant—it's an...
Read moreIf you like Korean style of spicy chicken feet, this place is a must-try. The best chicken feet that I have ever tried. Also the pork feet, the meat is tender and lovely smoky smell too. The jjambong broth is amazing and I have been told that spiciness can be customised. This place is hidden gem in Eight Mile Plains. I just need to re-visit and try some of other foods, which I am sure I will be fully satisfied without any doubts. If you like Korean food, try this place out.
Revisited 21/Jun/24. Ordered jjambong, spicy chicken feet, galbijjim and fried squid. Absolutely satisfied. Jjambong had a taste of fire(?) and spicy chicken feet was morish. Galbijjim shows the basic of sweet and salt. All of broth goes well with the rice provided. I will recommend this place to all of my friends. Thank you for good...
