Donāt be fooled by the 5 star reviews, they are giving away free tarts for a 5 star review.
This is my honest review, hope they can improve on their service and food quantity.
Pros: We were able to make a reservation without any seating problems The flavour of the seafood risotto and beef pasta was great, smelt amazing when it arrived at the table
Cons: Poor customer service, the young staff are not trained properly, rude and no manners, and made errors with our food We had a table of 6 and ordered 6 main dishes, 5 dishes came out and we were waiting for the last dish but it never came. We then asked the waiter and they were insistent that we only ordered 5 dishes, despite having a table of 6. The waiter who took our order did not apologise that he missed out one dish, he kept arguing that we only ordered 5 dishes. We didnāt want to a waste our time so we didnāt argue back. When the last dish finally came, it was another waitress, as the original waiter had no guts to give us the dish and apologise. Very disappointing! The waiters should be more attentive to the table to see the number of guests and question if they think the dishes ordered were not enough! Main dishes portion is very small, itās not enough to feed an average to big eater The seafood risotto had very little amounts of seafood, the mussels were so small, smaller than a 5 cent coin! The prawns were also on the small side. 2 pieces of small white fish 10% surcharges on the weekend Small seating areas, so make sure to book
Overall I wouldnāt recommend this place unless you really want to try a new place. Poor service and very little portions.
I donāt often leave poor reviews but we had a terrible experience. Please train your young staff properly before they serve real customers, otherwise they will scare the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe came in for dinner as a group of 5. One of the reasons for choosing this restaurant was its low corkage charge, as we brought our own premium wines.
The owner lady was on the floor serving, and sincerely asked for and listened to comments!
Pan fried barra had crispy skin and soft meat. Smoked salmon salad was finished immediately. We ordered "extra" grilled chicken steak as side and it was nicely cooked (soft meat). Seafood bisque was rich and puff pastry skin on top was crispy. Beef was their main promotion and was in Every set meal option. The downside was some people like us who can't eat beef would have to avoid the set options entirely. Reportedly the beef fillet tasted better than it looked. Cooked medium rare which was right, portion was huge. Perhaps the part that failed our expectations were the chips and garlic bread in the dish were cold and hard. The owner lady swiftly ordered a replacement dish of chips when was freshly fried, hot and delicious! Desserts were not extraordinary as that wasn't their specialty, but the owner introduced the desserts in an easy to understand way: 3 levels of sweetness. She knew Asians who like desserts don't really want too sweet! Turns out all the desserts were quite acceptable to most of us if you avoid the few parts that had too much sugar.
The cappuccino was a surprise to me. There was a Toby Estate sign outside, and the espresso machine was pro, thus I decided to give it a try. I didn't expect it to be good as there's rarely any barista on duty for dinner time, but the cappuccino was more than "acceptable". It was even presented with professional latte art and excellent milk frothing!
Surely Five stars for...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI agree that the desserts were delicious and the Portuguese tarts were as same as Macauās. The sweeties should be the selling point instead of savoury dishes. The savoury dishes have a large room of improvement. I tried the Arrabbiata. It was very spicy and oily! I couldnāt even see and eat any taste of beef bacon.
The staffs need to be trained. We waved our hands so many times but the staff ignored us. He kept chatting with his friends. Also, the environment was dirty. The chairs had leftover and hairs. The tables were unclean. I walked in to order take away Portuguese tarts for the second time. However, I waited so long because the cashier couldnāt even find the button of ordering Portuguese tart.
I canāt believe that it is called āfine diningā. Please pay attention to the branding. Fine dining should be fine on taste and serving. This āfine diningā only shows on the portion and price of the dishes. The portions were small and only as like as entrĆ©es. For the price and portion of savouryās , to be honest, I can find alternatives.
I saw some advertisements that the head chef or the owner has rich experiences in dining fields. However, quality control and staff training are very important. I strongly suggest that keeping the standard of dishes and serving for return customers is more important than grabbing 5 stars in google with free Portuguese tarts.
I love your Portuguese tarts because I canāt find any as same as yours in Brisbane. I hope your business can keep running long so...
