If I could leave less than zero stars I would! My recommendation for Mr Baps is DO NOT go to this place, boycott it on principle even, find another of the many Korean restaurants in Sunnybank and go there instead.
On entering this smoky room of a restaurant my partner who was pushing our relatively newborn babyâs pram saw the manager mouth âwhy would you bring a baby hereâ. After seating ourselves, we heard a loud crashing behind and turned to see someone aggressively BOOTING, like a football, the plate that had been dropped into the kitchen⌠What on EARTH! Regardless of this, and of feeling really uncomfortable there, we ordered a meal. Knowing our baby was going to be hungry soon, we decided to go to the car, feed him, pack the pram away (as there was nowhere to park the pram comfortably) and I would wear him in a baby carrier on our return. On discussion with my partner we decided that this environment, being loud and smokey was not the best place to have our baby and that it would be best if we cancelled or got our meal take away. I returned to the restaurant and told my family and went to the counter to speak to the staff. I was polite and asked if it was possible to cancel our order or if it was too late, get it to take away. The manager seeming irritated and rude, snorted to me that they had been bringing out the meals one at a time starting at the other end of the table. I explained to him that I was not complaining, but our baby was unhappy and we needed to leave. He then picked up two plates of meat and said âyours is here now!â. I said thatâs fine we will pay and take it with us. He begrudgingly agreed and began packing our meal and the meal of my aunt into the same container. He didnât seem to understand that he should only pack one of the meals not both so my cousin came and explained a second time after which he started slapping the meat back onto the same plate haphazardly and shoved it to my aunt on the table. This did NOT look appealing and food treated/prepared with this level of disrespect never tastes good.
He then left me hanging at the counter and I asked him to be as quick as you can please as we had an upset baby in the car. After a couple of minutes he came to take payment and tried to charge us for something we did not order and told us we had ordered kimchi rice, I said no we did not and I repeated what we had ordered. He again tried to say we had ordered it and at this point I was becoming irritated, told him that we did NOT order that and that we ordered âXâ meal and repeated the cost to him. After the payment had gone through I took the meal and told him that his manners need to be better and that he had been rude and if that is how he is dealing with customers, they could not help to accomodate patrons with babies then they could expect bad reviews. He claimed not to know what I was talking about, so I repeated myself, âyour manners are terrible, your rude and if you cannot accomodate the needs of customers then you should be expecting bad reviews.â At this point I turned, said goodbye to my family and left. I actually felt like turning back and throwing the platter of meat into the restaurant!
So if you feel like being treated like an inconvenience for being there when youâre paying for a service, and you feel like youâd like to walk away from dinner feeling angry, upset, and poorly treated then by all means try out Mr Bapâs, but my recommendation is again, DONT DO IT⌠find another of the many Korean restaurants in Sunnybank where the manager is polite to patrons and happy to have you in their restaurant.
If the manager treats his patrons like this I would hate to think how he treats...
Read moreStaff here have negative attitude with customers. I am assuming because they hate their job and it really shows, but that is an assumption made.
I would not recommend this restaurant as they have absolutely poor customer service. I called to reserve a table for 4 people for dinner and it was not available for 10 minutes, which is fine but the quality of customer service was terrible.
I came in and locked eye contact with waitress to be served. I have taken initiative to go out of my way to greet her and she avoided talking to me. She went off to do other things besides greet me, so I awkwardly stood in-front of so many people while many other waiters/waitresses had to squeeze through me as the restaurant is pretty tight in space, and packed with people during the night.
After the awkward wait and not informing us how long it will take, we were taken to a table. No apology given, at this point myself and my mates are annoyed but ignore it to have a good time.
The same waitress takes our order. It goes smoothly. We wait a few minutes, we receive our bbq meal order. Great. But where's our grill? We wait a few more minutes. Nothing, so I ask a waiter to get us a grill, and he does. Except he does it wrong. We had no idea, but obviously it is not working because it is not hot. We wait a few more minutes, ask another waiter and he does it correctly, but he does not look pleased.
Food was good, had a good time with mates until we were the only ones remaining by the end of the night. We had no idea time went so fast, and instead of informing us that they will be closing in 10 minutes, they told us to leave and pay on the dot. When I went to pay for the meal by card, the waiter who did not seem pleased, was annoyed that I wanted to insert my card in and told me to just tap it.
Horrendous customer service. Seriously, there are better options out there. If you don't care, you're welcome to support...
Read moreThis was a regular favourite Korean BBQ place that my friends often visited.
We haven't been in a long while and decided to book a table for approx 10ppl.
To avoid waiting for a table, we called and book a few days in advance but our disappointment on the day.. we were left waiting outside for a good 30-45mins for a a table as if we never made a booking in the first place.
That's not where the nightmare ends... Understandable that they may be busy or under staff however its not excuse to treat paying customers rudely. The only thing you did right was take our order of food.. we ask for wine 3x ... even pointed out which one we wanted to the female staff member who seemed some what confused. No Wine came.. when we requested a 3rd or 4th time for them to bring it out the manager of the place shouted - "A bottle or a glass - you order it with my staff"
If the manger treats customers like that .. no wonder the staff don't bother to do their job properly!!
We asked for refill of the lettuce on multiple occasions but they failed to bring it out. It got to the point where we had to rock up to the counter and ask for lettuce to which staff the manager advised that's an extra $2 for each basket.
The only good part was the fact the food still tasted good... We will not be returning - there are plenty of other Korean Bbq places that offer good food, good prices and proper customer service.
If you are looking for good food and don't care about the service then this place is ok.
Sorry I wont be returning to this place ever. This place clearly has no appreciation or respect for the customers that keep your...
