I'll start this review by saying that there were circumstances at the time that impacted the cafe's ability to give good service (it was a Sunday morning, and apparently they were still trying to catch up after having been inundated with 40 people at once). For this reason I've given the cafe three stars instead of one. That being said, I think things could still have been handled a lot better than they were.
My husband and I were traveling and had our luggage with us, and due to all the bikes blocking passage we decided to go in and order one after the other so we could both have a chance to see what was available while the other waited with the luggage (not blaming the cafe for that, just explaining as that was the reason we didn't order together). It was the only place around that was open, and we wanted to grab some quick breakfast.
It took me 15mins just to get a drink and a pastry. Three people attempted to serve me while I was at the counter (points for trying to be helpful at least) but they were so behind on orders that they had no idea what was still available or not and had to keep checking through tickets (although of the three people who tried to serve me, only one of them seemed to be trying to fulfill that ticket backlog). Eventually ended up ordering a pasty and a soft drink as no breakfast pastries were available in the end and the person who ended up serving me didn't know how to go about getting the pressed juice. I got the pasty as it was the only one availble that I thought would be more vegetables than meat substitute... but I was wrong. Ate half cause I was hungry and ended up throwing out the rest.
My husband took over half an hour getting his food because he had wanted a coffee, and got a similiarly meat substitute filled pie. So over 45 minutes between the two of us where a coffee was the only thing they actually had to make.
We mentioned this to some friends we were visiting and they said that it's very common for this cafe to be this busy on a weekend as they have very limited opening hours... which begs the question why they aren't...
