I had the most humiliating experience at your Garden City store today. I sat down with my 3yo daughter having bought sushi nearby, not realizing the seating was your customers only. I was approached by a lovely waitress who bought me a menu - at that point I realized it was cafe seating, offered to leave however she said I could stay as there was only 2 other customers sat in the ‘outside’ dining area. I remarked that I’d order something when my daughter finished her single sushi roll we had bought. Immediately afterwards, a young teenage male came up to me and rudely ordered that we leave - I responded that I had spoken to another employee and committed to buying a takeaway coffee when we finished, also happy to order it now but could I have it in about 10 mins as I was helping my daughter with her lunch and we would be on our way. He said I had to order it to have it dine in (not takeaway) NOW or leave. I responded I had spoken to the other employee, and he remarked not to listen to her as she was new. He stood over me telling me to leave. I asked to speak to a manager - to which he replied there was none - so I asked to speak to the most senior employee so whom I shared my story. She was professional and after explaining my story said I could stay but by this point, I was in tears feeling humiliated with absolutely no reasonable approach or apology at the way a young mother was bullied in your store. When retail and small business are struggling, it’s critical that your staff treat customers and potential customers with respect. I will not be returning to your store nor will I recommend it to my mum friends. I felt so humiliated being yelled at by a young waiter on...
Read moreI only got a cold brew as the rest of the menu seemed a bit hoity-toity for a solo lunch and the modest budget that I was stretching. Maybe if I was trying to impress someone I'd eat here.
The cold brew was pretty good and certainly worth the little bit of extra money over a basic iced long black at nearby Starbucks. This had a much more pleasant flavour without the simple, harsh bitterness of an iced long black
The service at Revamp was fine for such a simple order. The restaurant looked nice and inviting inside as well as cleaner, more cosy and inviting than, umm, Starbucks.
I would have liked to eat my lunch at Revamp but I was buying fried rice from the restaurant across from them so I took my coffee and rice to the nearby food court and slummed it, rather than bothering to ask either place if it was ok to bring outside food/drink in... If only I had one of my more assertive friends who don't hesitate to ask such questions.
EDIT: Subsequent visits were less impressive. Their cold brew is quite good for a concentrate. The service is inconsistent and the atmosphere is only good relative to it being in a large shopping mall that is virtually devoid of atmosphere. It's a good option compared to others such as Starbucks but that's a low bar... And yet if you're doing some shopping there you have...
Read moreCostumer service: 1/5 I visited the place twice during one day (morning, afternoon). The lady she served me in the morning was nice and know how to communicate with costumers. In the afternoon, the experience was different. The young blond lady with no glasses wasn’t nice and needs some training in how to communicate with customers. I asked her if I could mark my loyalty card for my morning coffee purchase and her response was kind of rude. I felt like I’m not a trusted person. Why should I lie about my morning purchase? For a card mark 😅
Coffee: 3/3 I ordered flat white and long black. I’m not a fan of flat white, so I thought it was fine. The coffee beans they use (in terms of the roast level) and taste are just fine. The long black was extra hot 🥵 I was wondering why they did not ask me if I wanted it extra hot. However, regarding its extraction and taste it was within...
