We ordered two pieces of Cod, one chicken schnitzel and plain chips for lunch today. My husband and son enjoyed the fish but the chicken was inedible. I know it’s a fish n chip place, so I wasn’t even expecting to get a fresh piece of chicken crumbed, but, wow, was this bad. The shape alone showed it was frozen and if it was decent quality frozen I wouldn’t be writing this review. It was the equivalent of a large chicken nugget from McDonald’s. It was what is likely chicken mashed up and mixed with stuff. I mean how easy would it be to just crumb a piece of chicken and drop it in the fryer? My husband was appalled on my account. I cut into it, looked at how terrible it was and threw it out. We prefer plain (normal chips) and asked for two orders of plain chips and got battered chips instead. I know some people love battered chips but they are not what I want when I am ordering from a restaurant and supposedly with a choice. So if you’re only looking for fish, then fine. To the restaurant, if you can’t put a decent piece of chicken on the menu then DO NOT put it on as an option. Not only did I pay for something that went right in the bin but I had no lunch as well. Unfortunately it was Take-out, if we ate in I would’ve...
Read moreHave been a few times without issue. Last occasion I went into the shop and said hello, and stood back whilst deciding what to order so that I was out of the way. The older man who appears to be owner/manager(?) stared me down angrily, loudly sighing as if unhappy with how long I was taking to decide what to order (hadn’t been 30seconds). Rolled his eyes at me, and whispered something (presumably derogatory) to a younger male staff member who then looked at me and they both smirked. I walked out appalled and the older man said ‘righto darling’ in an attempt to demean me. We will never be back. He...
Read moreWe recently got oysters from here, unfortunately “dine in” wasn’t an option as they don’t carry mignonette or horseradish or any kinda sauce that should go with them. Being a big oyster fan moving her from Canada (coast) I was already worried as they oysters were stored in cling wrap in a fridge. In our experience and knowledge fresh oysters should be stored on ice and breathable condition. long story short they were off and we couldn’t enjoy them. Won’t recommend buying them...
