What a phenomenal and magnificent dinner in a beautiful location. Thank you for having us.

Went as a table of 3 for a 630pm booking on a Friday night. The staff were incredibly delightful and attentive.

As a group we were torn between the mains and the entrees. As such, 2 of us ordered lots of entrees to share and 1 of us ordered a main of duck. We had the bread (whipped butter was soulfood), olives, Buratta, pork croquettes. The pork croquettes were do good, we ordered another round. There is literally chunks of pulled pork in them and the tomato chutney / jam was a religious experience.

I have been to a few restaurants in this area. This one is absolutely my #1 pick.

Rather than wine we had cocktails: banana old fashion, high ball, and the pretty pink one. We are regulars at Death & Taxes and these cocktails were in that tier.

An absolutely amazing and joyous experience. The outdoor seating was magic. Highly recommend. We are keen to try the burger but also the tasting menu. We will definately be back.

South City Wine Bar & Bistro in Woolloongabba is a rare gem in Brisbane. The food was nothing short of exceptional – beautifully crafted, full of flavour, and plated with care. The playlist was also spot on, perfectly curated to match the vibe of the space.

But what really makes this place stand out above the rest is the staff. Service here isn’t just good – it’s the best I’ve experienced anywhere in Brisbane. From the warm welcome to the attentive details throughout the evening, everything felt effortless yet genuine. A special mention must go to Sarah, the manageress, who has an incredible way of making you feel like a VIP while keeping everything running smoothly. And the gentleman with the ponytail, Dave, was equally outstanding – professional, personable, and clearly passionate about hospitality.

It’s rare to find a venue where the food, atmosphere, and service all hit the highest standard – but South City Wine Bar & Bistro delivers exactly that. Highly recommend.

I cannot recommend high enough! A week or 2 back now, my partner and I were Googling around last minute for a local wine bar with a nice ambiance and came across this place. Without a booking, we showed up and they managed to get us a table on a busy Saturday night.

Whilst we were only there for a wine or 2 and shared nibbles, the atmosphere and level of service were so good we just went for the works - entree, mains, and deserts!

We could not fault a thing - service was excellent, food was absolutely delish (I recommend the fish, frites, and profiteroles the most!), and despite a blustery windy and rainy night, AND sitting outside in a corridor, it felt cozy and warm with the space heaters - they even brought me a blanket without me having to ask.

Wine was excellent - I had one of the chilled reds and will definitely order again!
