YUMS! CHICKEN - Woolloongabba — Restaurant in Brisbane City

I unfortunately have to leave a very critical review of YUMS Chicken. I say unfortunately because our first and second experiences were flawless. The chicken was crispy, fresh and very tasty, but our third experience was less than average.

The third time, our chicken was cold, chewy, tasteless and the coating was falling off. The chips were cold and they forgot to give us our sauces. We were there right on time to pick up our order and we only live close by, so there is no way this food would have deteriorated that much from when we picked it up to the time we ate it. Most likely, we were given food that was cooked well before our order was even sent through because it was ready before we turned up (under 10 mins after we sent in the order). The first and second time we waited at least 20 mins for our orders but this never bothered us because it was so good.

There are much better places to get your fried chicken fix. Try instead: hashtag burgers and waffles, Sue’s Burgers and Shakes, wing fix, milky lane, 2 bros, KCS chicken.

I have attempted to complain about our most recent order via their service email, but have received NO response. I have sent one email over 2 weeks ago and another one to follow-up over one week ago. Their employee on the phone stated that I could request a refund, but that never eventuated and now we won’t return. We spent almost $50 on a very poor lunch.

To the owner of YUMS - this is not the way you treat your customers if you want to build a thriving and successful business. If we had heard back from you and given us a refund like your employee offered, we would have returned and tried again but not now. You have lost a potentially loyal customer. I can't believe how good this place was. Genuinely. Ordered through doordash and absolutely devoured everything before I could even think. The burgers were perfectly balanced. The chicken is so tender and the pickles cut through with a sour punch. The bread is delightful. Like the softest, butteriest brioche that you can imagine. The nacho sweet potato fries were everything I could imagine. So cheesy, sweet and amazingly flavourful with the jalapenos and little bits of juicy chicken. Did I mention that the chicken is incredible? Because we also got spicy chicken bites and my girlfriend devoured them, as well as the honey mustard sauce. The heat on them was at a perfect level, with it slowly building without sacrificing flavour like a lot of spicy food tends to do Finally, we got milkshakes. We got an oreo one and a Hershey's chocolate. Honestly, the chocolate one wasn't the best milkshake I've ever tried but the oreo one was next level. I asked if I could order a kids meal for my daughter as we (parents) were getting menu log, the server said “of course”. I ordered a kids meal with an apple juice. She asked large or small, I should have twigged that she wasn’t listening properly but I figured maybe there’s a large kids meal? So I ordered large. There was a long wait, the staff might be new but they seemed to be struggling and it wasn’t busy. Eventually I got my order and went next door to our room, 2 minute trip including the elevator, when I opened it, it was large chicken tenders, no chips like the meal is supposed to and an extra random juice orange & mango. The chicken was warm, not even close to hot, it was tasty but not crispy on the outside and made me wonder how long it had been sitting there before packaging. I still needed chips as my child wouldn’t eat much of the chicken, so went back for a really long wait for a large fries.
