Lunch experience was a group booking. Not all meals and drinks pictured. Great locations, the venue has been refurbished and looks good. Nice vibe and ambience. Service is friendly enough. Only just. Not so great is their zero options for a vegetarian meal in their lunch time specials. Not even a token vege meal. I requested that the meal of “Crunchy tempura prawn salad” replaced the prawns with the steamed veggies. Both are priced at $5 in the lunch specials menu in the ‘add on’ options. Staff at service counter refused a straight swap and advised that whilst the prawns could be removed, the additional $5 would still be charged. I asked again - that I did not want the prawns, it was a straight swap with same pricing, but she refused. As it was going to be $23 anyway, I decided to have the vegan burger - $18. The only vego meal option available. It was underwhelming to say the least. I don’t think it gets ordered a lot, as it was definitely not fresh tasting. The buns were without any spreads, was dry and the serving plate needs to be slightly bigger. The dessert options were pleasing. Would I come again? Sure, if my group wants to. Otherwise, unless straight swaps/more vego options are introduced, probably not.

Do you long for a relaxed and leisurely establishment to grab a bite to eat or enjoy a bit of gaming from time to time. Do you miss the olive, avocado, and green and green colors that dominated designs in the 70s? Well, you may want to swing by Southern Cross Sports Club. They have a folksy charm and chill vibe that is more common in small-town Australia. The menu is typical for sports clubs, so do not expect culinary mastery. But the prices are in par with other similarly teired venues. Their sports pitch is quite nice and a focal point for the club. No flash, but a focus on the team. Their gaming room is small, with a focus on the machines. The internal self-service coffee station is a bit underwhelming. There is only one bar in the club, but the bar staff are friendly and efficient. All of the staff are friendly and seem eager to serve. The club does have an event room, which is primarily used for wakes or special events during the weekdays.

Went there for my birthday for dinner. Don't order Crumbed steak cost $25 if you are a member. Crumbed steak was terrible it was deep fry with the Crumbed fish and it tasted fishy because it was definitely deep fried .Tasted terrible, I had to order another meal because I was hungry. The photo is the meal received the one with no cheese is the Crumbed steak it is the smallest one. It looks like it just got slapped together. Staff came and collected the Crumbed steak asked what was wrong with it. I explained to her, thought I would get offered a refund but no nothing even paid for another meal. Very disappointing 😞

Not entirely sure where the praise is coming from, I went there once for food, ordered a chicken parmy and it was the blandest thing I've ever tasted. Perhaps it was just an off day for the chefs, or some divine intervention decided the parmy was going to taste like trash that day, however I didn't particularly enjoy what I ordered, especially considering it cost over $20. The portion size was tiny, fit for a child, chicken was overcooked, no moisture and completely bland, as if they didn't bother seasoning it. The extra pieces of meat i ordered in the extra meat version (whatever it's called) was simply a slice of bacon lazily thrown on top of the chicken, and the other pieces were barely noticeable. The fries that came with were honest to god the blandest, soggiest things I've ever had. Picked one up and it literally caved in from its own weight; if I wanted noodles, I would have ordered noodles. Best part about that entire dish was the salad, and my friends who came with would agree. Sad part is, that salad was simply a bunch of herb scraps thrown onto the plate with the tiniest bit of dressing.

Perhaps it was an off day when I came in, who knows, however I wouldn't recommend any of...

I took my elderly mum for lunch today. I have never been spoken to so rudely by the supposed dining room “manager” ever. When we arrived we tried to look for a table for two but couldn’t find one that wasn’t reserved so we sat at one end of a table that seated 12 or 2 x 6 (easy to separate) after we finished our meal she approached me and warned me that next time that I was NOT to sit at such a large table and that she had to accommodate a large group elsewhere (in the section next door) I was explaining that there weren’t any smaller tables available when we arrived but she was not interested and turned her back on me whilst I was talking to her. There were many large tables in the room next door so I don’t see what the problem was. Well I don’t need the bad attitude from a waitress and don’t worry I won’t be back as there are plenty more places to dine with MUCH better food and MUCH better service. Shame because all the other staff were very nice...
