A nice little restaurant in the Mt Gravatt area. It is unique and somewhat upmarket, selling tasty Malaysian food. They seated us quickly but service wasn’t that great. The service was okay but we were positioned right near the back door area for the kitchen cleaning(?) so they often missed us. We often had to really flag them down to help us, but when they came, they were very friendly etc. The food came quickly and was decently tasty. We got the: sambal chicken: this was very very spicy and I couldn’t enjoy it because it was just a bit too much. I tried to eat the lettuce/ greens around it but even they were super spicy butter oat king prawns: very unique and very tasty. There is almost like a crumbing or crispy layer over the prawns which makes them very tasty 🍤 roti canai with beef rendang: this was a great favourite. We didn’t have enough roti so we ordered another! Would definitely recommend
I would definitely recommend coming here. The food is super tasty and quite unique, compared to other Malaysian places. In terms of parking, it is quite accessible, with free parking onsite, but it does fill up a bit as it is shared with other restaurants. Don’t expect amazing service, but otherwise,...
Read moreThe food tasted quite horrible compared to their Waterford chef. The Char Kway Teow was flavourless & not charred flavour - "wok hei" - wok breath! Also had the Yee Sang - Prosperity plate with Salmon - very expensive $88 - for shredded vegetables and a few pieces of salmon. It was disgusting - the worse I have eaten in my life. I have travelled across Malaysia and Singapore in my lifetime thus far sampling all the Yee Sang during CNY. It was again tasteless - the vegetables were flavourless, the sauce was obviously diluted. It was bulked up by fried crackers to make it look like it is a huge plate. Moreover, all the other A-la-carte CNY dishes were over inflated - e.g. who pays $68 for glutinous rice with a few chinese sausage and mushrooms. Come on! Get real! The curry puffs were measly little things with hardly any filling. This is the first time and will be the last time I will visit this particular branch of YaHoo restaurant. I prefer the Waterford branch. The cook is far more superior than the one based here. One thing I can commend on is the service. It was exceptional and hence 2 star rating. Written my a...
Read moreThis used to one of our favourite restaurant that offered authentic Malaysian Chinese cuisine . My family and I normally visit this restaurant every few weeks as we love it so much . UNFORTUNATELY, our last visit on a Friday about 2weeks ago was shocking and disappointing. We ordered 3 dishes Char Kuey Teow— very strong burnt taste , not wok huey , I think the garlic is burnt and extremely salty . This dish used to be so good here that it was better than some of the restaurant at Malaysia and always satisfy my craving! So I’m really really upset about the drastic drop in standard .( if anything is burnt , the chef should just throw the dish away or even just the burnt garlic away rather than serve it to the customer ) A restaurant should never serve a dish they wouldn’t eat themselves !!!! Salty fish fried rice —tasteless , the rice and the chicken are both tasteless , probably better off ordering just plain white rice Salt and pepper pork ribs with white rice —- this dish is ok , I have tasted better at this same restaurant so it is a bit disappointing. I do hope there is improvements as we travel about 30 minutes...
