Very disappointed with how Stomp has gone downhill lately. We have been regular customers for the last three year years as it was always a good place to stop for coffee and breakfast. Two weeks ago we stopped for breakfast and after waiting 30 minutes asked how long our food would be, the staff looked into it and realised our order had only been particularly processed, we had been served our drinks but the food order had not gone to the kitchen. The staff were very apologetic and our order was rushed out. Food was very nice and we thought this was a one off mistake so turned up again for breakfast on Saturday. Our drinks came out quickly but after waiting thirty minutes for our food I went to ask what the delay was, I was told there was a lot of take away orders so ours was next in the queue and would be out in ten minutes. Ten minutes later I went to ask about our order again and was told it would be out in a few minutes. Another ten minutes later I went to cancel our order and was told by one of the staff that there had been a lot of takeaways ahead of us, I would have been fine with that if we had not noticed 3 seperate groups ordering takeaway food after we had placed our order and getting it served long before I enquired about ours. I suspect our order had once again not gone to the kitchen. . I said I was not happy we had waited 50 minutes for food that had not turned up and was given a very insincere “oh right sorry” in response, it was obvious the staff member really did not care. We won’t be going back to...
Read moreI love stopping in here early on a weekday morning because it opens at 5:30 am. This means I can squeeze in my daily walk (up and down those hills) and enjoy an hour of digital nomad work in a great community vibe. The food is simple, and the friendly staff are always trying to impress with delicious flavours in the savoury croissants and toasties. I can't get enough of the buffalo mozzarella, tomato, pesto, and prosciutto croissant, along with all the other pastries and butter chicken triangles. The almond latte with hazelnut is divine, and those warmed caramel cookies should come with a warning sign. Staff bend over backwards to please, and puppies are very welcome too to purchase a treat. You guys make my day!...
Read moreThis place has always been one of our favourites. The food is nice, the coffee is great and the service (more often then not) is great, but the service from one staff member today made us feel like we were a total inconvenience.
She didn't greet us with a "Good morning", no smile, no "How are you?". She took our order by saying "Do you know what you want?". No "Thank you", no "Have a nice day". Cleaning the table next to us, she was kicking the stools to put them under the table as if she doesn't want to be here.
I understand this place is popular and gets busy, maybe she's having a bad day, but it's not excuse to treat your customers...
