Hello Sun Sun Owners, I purchased $135.00 of Take Away a few weeks ago and it was great and we enjoyed it. So I booked last night for dinner. We ordered Fried Wonton for starters, followed by Scallops, ginger and shallots, Special Fried Rice and Green Beans with Pork Mince. We ordered a Tsing Tao Beer and a Tonic Water. The waitress opened an Asahi and called across the room and said did you order Asahi? And I said no. She went in the kitchen with the Asahi beer and gave it to the chef. Our drinks came and there was no issue, until the beans and the rice dish arrived. I said where are the fried wontons fro starters. Oh, she said, did you order wontons, and I said yes. She said would you like me to take the rice and beans back? I said are you just going to keep them warm in the kitchen? She said yes. I said leave it here thanks. The wontons appeared halfway through the main and I have to say they were hardly wontons. They were battered morsels of meat. A wonton is made using a wonton wrapper filled with a pork mince filling and should be crispy when served. They were a terrible example of a wonton, and the Chinese chef should be ashamed to call them a Wonton, so should the owners of Sun Sun. The NZ/Mauri waitress did not really care that we did not enjoy them and did nothing to make us happy with an alternative or take them off the bill. She made up some excuse why chef did not use a wonton wrapper. We ate one each of the wontons and left the rest on the table as they were clearly not wontons. She never cleared the wontons from the table thinking we might eat the remainder. The scallop were $34 so I was expecting something a little more than what arrived. My mother felt the scallops did not taste good (she said there was a taint of ammonia about them). I said they were not the best, but I said you should not get food poisoning. And we didn't. Thank goodness. So, our food experience at Sun Sun was quite poor and the service and care shown to us last night left a lot to be desired. And for the record I saw the chef come and grab a Carona Beer during service. Not a good look to be honest. We will not be back in a hurry....
Read moreTalking about food only, it was okay and the meat dish I got was quite small, the salty fish & chicken fried rice was alright but almost no salty fish, for $20, I expect more. The pricing is very expensive. Ask to do takeaway and then asked to pay an additional $3 to sit inside when I changed my mind although not listed anywhere of this charge. Tried to charge me $1.20 for a very small bit of soy sauce and chilli and then settled with 50c, once again not listed anywhere and just arbitrarily charged me what he wanted. I can tell the owner/manager of the place has some sort of complex with westerners as he is extra friendly and welcoming, yet doesn’t do the same for other asians/races? What’s the deal with that, why can’t you treat all your customers the same? I do t expect extra service, but the same as you do for all the other 4 westerner customers you had before, during and...

Went to pay for the evening using a credit card. The waitress (despite the transaction being accepted), did not allow us to sign the receipt.. but instantly pressed the "signature not ok" button on the eftpos machine and insisted that we use a credit card with a PIN number... or go down the street and get some cash out.
A most unpleasant experience, especially when there is nothing wrong.
The waitress that served us should be fired: Yes - Australian issued credit cards require a PIN number, and the machine will not display the "signature ok?" screen.. But we are tourists from USA, with non-Australian credit cards where Signatures are acceptable. We are a backwards country, and don't use PIN numbers, or NFC, and rely on signatures.
We will never go back to Sun Sun Chinese Restaurant, or...
