Went in for a takeaway, no one greeted us even though we were 2 arms reached away.. the girl at the front turned around to looked at us, ignored us and walked away. So a girl in the kitchen came up and asked if we wanted a table. I said I'd like a takeaway please, so she tried to get floor staff to assist us. A girl that ignored us came up and threw 1 small container and 1 large lid for large container on the bench, no tongs and said," help yourself, I'll come back and count the plates." When another came out I asked for another container and a lid to go with it, this girl was polite and even though she seems new and doesn't seem to know where things are, she tried to serve us as polite as possible (that's the extra star I gave)she seems like she was the only person busy running around, other than her, I felt like everyone else was avoiding us as I really wanted their attention, because I wanted to order things off the menu; since most stuff on the rails aren't really sushi, mostly cooked or fried stuff or baby rolls. While the ignorant girl walking around chillin' the Same nice girl came back and assisted us with the order again. However, Food took almost 15minutes to get a plate or two out even though it's a raw fish order. And it wasn't even busy, 2 dine-in tables with customers, (from what I can see) 6 kitchen staff, 3 floor staff. The food was ehh , raw salmon was alright, tuna was dry, unagi was extra smelly (for someone that eats it often), rice wasn't sticky and came apart on chopsticks, (you can question my chopsticks skill if you'd like), avocado was brownish. Soy sauce, teriyaki sauce and ginger was nice š extra...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreChange in management probably. Poor quality tea but upped the price to $3 because it comes in a teapot rather than the usual $2 cup of tea. No change in taste but price has gone up. The teapot lid does not close properly because the strainer is too big for the pot and you are instructed to push the lid down when you pour. Speaking of customer and workplace health and safety!
Special order hand rolls have increased in price by a minimum $1 each for me. My friend ordered a California hand roll and the roll came on 2 plates which never happened in my recollection. I have eaten at this Sushi Train for the past two years and never received a hand roll on two plates even for the said California hand roll. Apparently, it was explained by the chef/owner that the cost of the hand roll goes up by $1 for each ingredient. Very illuminating and enlightening to know that 2 ingredients in a hand roll makes it $5. I might as well eat at the more expensive sushi places for better quality at the hiked up price of $7 for a California hand roll.
To be honest, it is infuriating that the chef who claimed to be the owner rudely advised that my friend could return the hand roll if my friend did not want to pay for it! Come on, a few dollars doesn't break a customer's bank account but it sure does make an unpleasant dining experience after a long day at work. Surely, the customer has a right to ask when a hand roll comes out on 2 plates and the price is not advertised for special orders. And surely the response can be...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWish we could give this place a 0 star rating. We have called on 3 occasions, the first 2 occasions was 1.5 hours before they closed and took the order. When we got there to pick up the platter, the chef was angry that we had ordered a platter this late and refused to make it. The chef was incredibly rude and am surprised he still has a job. It was 7:30pm!! You close at 9pm!!!
The most recent time we called up and decided to give them another chance... this time at 3pm on a Saturday. When we got there, apparently we called again to cancel the order not long after making the order??? We accepted the fact that maybe they had made an error and didnāt pass on the order to the chef (same chef as previous 2 times!) we asked to order again. The counter lady said sheāll check with the chef, only to receive a filthy look from this same chef. The worst chef I have ever come across.
We will not be returning, and will ensure we pass on to all our friends, family and generally anyone that lives in the area that your store is a disgrace to the sushi train franchise and discourage them from...
