Probably the worst customer service experience ever. I walked in just after 9:30pm on the way home from work because I was starving only to have the young girl at the register look up and roll her eyes at me. She then continued to tell me that they couldn’t take any orders because they were “kind of closed” (whatever the hell that means - you’re either open or closed). I said; “Ok fair enough” and walked out. I always though it was 10pm that they closed so I checked google and sure enough, the website said they were open until 10pm so I walked back in (where she rolled her eyes for a second time) and told her that the internet said they were open until 10pm like I had originally thought. She hesitated and I could tell she was trying to think of a reason not to serve me. She seemed very nervous for whatever reason (maybe because she knew that I knew she was lying about being closed) and then told me that “the door was actually locked a few minutes ago”. I said; “Well it wasn’t locked when I walked through it” and she then told me she would get her manager. At this point I’m very confused as to what the hell is actually going on because I’ve only ever had pleasant experiences at this particular store. The manager comes out and was also extremely vague when explaining why I could not place an order (Honestly, they could have taken my order, cooked it and given it to me just about in the time it took them to avoid serving me). The manager tells me that they were “really busy today” (how that becomes my problem I don’t know). At this point I’ve now become pretty angry however managed to keep my cool. He then continued to tell me that they didn’t have a lot of food left, only chips and pineapple fritters. I said that was fine because all I wanted was chips anyway and so he put the order through (much to the disgust of the young girl at the register, who had been counting the til when I first walked in). I got the chips and they were nice and fresh and salty which is what I asked for so the food was fine which is why I rated the food 4/5 stars. The service and overall experience I had at this store was beyond disappointing and absolutely infuriating to say in the least. I just don’t understand how you can claim to be open until 10pm yet not want take any orders or serve any customers after 9:30pm?? Just close at 9:30pm then!! And the young girl at the register didn’t seem to know how to count considering she was still counting the change in the til when I walked out with my chips - FIFTEEN minutes after I first walked in! Perhaps she needs to be re-trained in both customer service and cash handling?
Overall a very below average experience of red rooster at clayfield. Next time I feel like hot chips I...
Read moreEntire order except for pineapple rings in the bin where it belongs.
Order was placed at approx 5:15pm on a Sunday arvo. Should have been piping fresh.
Red burgers were like some sort of practical joke, with the worst bit being that you only get two strips of chicken in each which were no longer or thicker than my FINGER. This was then adorned with a haphazardly slapped on piece of cheese in each 'burger'. That's it. That's what you get. Dry and awful. The lack of melting in the cheese likely indicates that the fact the stale burger wasn't much above room temperature when it was assembled. In the bin they go.
Chicken pieces were stone cold, overcooked to dry as woodchips meat, and the crumb tasted like stale cardboard. Couldn't even choke one down. Inedible. In the bin.
Pineapple rings a bit old and a bit greasy, but otherwise a comparatively good rating of 'sub-substandard' . Shame they weren't fresh, because they're a delight when fresh.
Chips were so old, cold and limp that they were starchy, stale and ultimately so awful that they were inedible. That they were seasoned well was no saving grace in this order which was a DISgrace. In the bin they went, too.
Could probably find fresher food in other bins in the Valley somewhere.
Just...
Read moreI cannot say thank you enough to both the beautiful young lady & gentleman manager/owner I spoke to on the phone this afternoon.
Pregnancy cravings hit hard today for a rooster roll, and with instructions from my gp to not reheat anything, I thought this would be off-limits.
I phoned through to ask the possibility of having one made fresh, and they were very quick to oblige.
Once delivered, the entire meal was the freshest I've ever had from a takeaway, and it was devine! There was also a little note on the roll itself to reassure me that the roll was made extra fresh.
It's a rarity to have this type of service, and people going the extra mile. So from a very satisfied pregnant lady,...
