Thaiways — Restaurant in Brisbane City

Terrible experience ordering from Thaiways using Menulog delivery:

At 6:40 PM we ordered delivery from Thaiways The menulog app provided an estimate delivery time of 7:30 PM At 7:35 PM the menulog app stated the food had been delivered, however we had not received our delivery Between 7:40 and 7:50 we attempted to ring the restaurant multiple times, but the line was busy the entire time At 7:55 PM we rang menulog customer service to find out what was going on, we were advised on the phone: The restaurant was not contactable and menulog could not tell us what has happened to our delivery; and An enquiry would be lodged and we would have a response in 1-2 days Based on Menulog's response we had two options order from another restaurant (and pay for another meal) or drive to the restaurant and find out what was going on. At 8:15 PM I drove to the restaurant and found the establishment to be completely understaffed and overrun with a backlog of delivery partners picking up orders At 8:30 PM I finally spoke to someone at the restaurant who advised me our food had left 10 mins earlier and that they are very busy hence the delay At 8:50 PM our food arrived at our house and was only mildly warm

Recommendation to anyone is don't order Thaiways delivery and especially not...

We had a family dinner here for the first time on Wednesday night. I picked it as I was looking for the best Thai restaurant in the area and it had great reviews. It didn’t disappoint! Every dish was delicious, tasty and large in size! The inside dining area was cozy and the staff were welcoming and friendly. The food came out fast! We shared spring rolls, money bags, calamari, fish cakes and satay sticks for entree and pad Thai, fried rice, choo chee curry, massaman curry, Penang curry and a crispy pork chili stir fry for mains. Every item was delicious and the 6 adults and 3 kids all enjoyed our meals! The sauce on the satay sticks was plentiful and there was lots of meat inside the main dishes. I come up to Brisbane for contracts from time to time. Stay with my cousin just around the corner from thaiways. Loved the food when the previous owners had it. So not realising it changed hands ordered my meal for the night. I was so disappointed, the rotti was oil soaked, literally dripping off. I also assume they use msg as my heart starts beating like it's going to jump out of my chest every time I have that disgusting spice. It's a pity, used to live his place. Maybe a bad night for the chef, but if it was, the owner should not have let the food leave the door. There are so many other Thai restaurants around there, let's hope it's a one off and other people have a better experience, for me, I'll take the car...
