ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE and will probably never return. All over a glass of non alcohol wine that was a 2 second fix. Ordered a non alcoholic wine to taste it and it not be non alcoholic. My wife as a non drinker could tell straight away. This was definitely alcoholic. I watched the guy pour it and was not the normal Giesen non alcohol wine. Brought this up with CHELSEA and was attacked as to it being the right thing! She literally picked the glass up and sniffed it as if we were lying. Asked to speak to the manager and whoever he was (black shirt) refused to come and speak to me even though I observed them looking at us from the bar. Her words to us were “you can take it up with him yourself”. He then continued to just walk around on his phone rather than assess or fix the problem. Chelsea took the drink back and then brought it back out and said it was the correct Giesen which is was not. The attitude and language we received from her was something I would never have expected from a restaurant. Said we wanted a replacement so 10minutes later she brought another out. Completely different colour drink. I stated that it was a different colour even and she wanted to continue to argue stating “oh it’s just the same thing”. She stormed off, so I got up and followed her to the bar where she and the original guy who poured the alcohol bad mouthed us and laughed. I asked to speak to the manager. Was directed to JESS the venue manager in the kitchen area who apologised profusely. We would have spent probably $200-$300 but instead we went elsewhere because of the experience we had. Extremely unprofessional by Chelsea. She is argumentative and so unprofessional. She should be fired. She has ruined a loyal returning customer. This whole incident could have been quickly resolved but the staff chose to make it an hour long ordeal and after all this we were not even offered a refund for the incorrectly poured drink. Read moreI attended the Hamilton Hotel’s Christmas lunch service, and what an amazing experience it was. The food, the service, the setting were all absolutely top notch, I could not fault a single thing the entire day. The food was all delicious and abundant, the staff, despite working on Christmas Day, were incredibly warm, welcoming and hospitable, especially one of the service team Grace who went above and beyond to ensure that my experience was flawless. She cheerfully greeted every table, offered to take group photos, and made sure that every little thing was just perfect.
I was so impressed by the attitude of every member of the staff, and so happy that I skipped the cooking and dishes and chose to let the professionals take care of me and my family this year. The table setting was also gorgeous, there was a bouquet of roses on every table, a Christmas bonbon for each person and even a little name placard for that extra special touch. The staff were kind enough to come up and let us know exactly when each menu item would be available until, ensuring that everyone at the table was able to enjoy the food they wanted to, and no one felt like they had missed out on anything. Also, the buffet was very well set out. Having multiple identical buffet lines allowed for quick and efficient service, and meant that it was so quick and easy to get all that good food on my plate, a drink from the bar, and then back to the table to enjoy the company of my nearest and dearest.
Thank you so much to the whole team at Hamilton hotel, not just for your incredible attention to detail and passion for great service, but also for giving up your own family Christmas lunch and choosing to not only work hard, but do it with a huge smile on every team member’s face. Five stars doesn’t do justice to the dining experience I had today, I can’t wait to return next Christmas for another exceptional time with family...

I could have cooked a much better meal at home at a fraction of the price and as if the terrible standard of food were not enough, we only got one of the two meals I ordered! They had not ordered the Calamari & Salad. Initially I had tried to order from the barcode at the table but when that failed I went up to the counter, showed the girl the two meals I wanted to order on the app on my iPhone and I also said I wanted to order two meals but apparently she only seen and heard one meal. Unfortunately I did not check what I was charged or I would have realised she had only charged me for one meal. My 'Medium Rare' steak was 'Well Done' and unenjoyable, the chips were WAY overcooked and the salad was undressed and looked exactly like the Coles mixed leaf salad packets I buy at the supermarket with nothing added. It was the saddest looking salad I have ever seen. When the Calamari & Salad arrived, it too looked as if it had come from a Coles mixed leaf salad packet and it too had no dressing at all, not even a dipping sauce for the crumbed Calamari, so my friend who's meal it was went to the counter and asked if they had any Tartar sauce and the girl said she had never heard of it... seriously?! She is working in the food industry and she has never heard of Tartar sauce????
It was a fail all round for us and we won't be back. I rate this Hotel 1/5 for their dreadful meals and 2/5 for the mediocre service and untrained staff. Over all score...
