I had a lovely experience here tonight, I’m staying in Hamilton for the night for a training course for work and I strolled down the street for dinner. Found this stunning Vietnamese place and instantly went over to have a look, there’s a menu out the very front so you can have a look at their food before going right in, and they had a wide variety of yummy Vietnamese dishes including some great vegetarian options!

I went in and felt very welcomed and greeted by the lovely front of house staff who gave me some options on some tables to sit at, being on my own I wanted to just be off to the side a bit and there was a perfect little table just over towards the edge that wasn’t tucked away but was nice to just sit at alone. It’s a beautiful restaurant though and looks like a great place to have a family dinner or for a birthday night out or date night!

I ordered a Strawberry Mojito and the Tofu and Spring Roll Vermicelli Salad, and I absolutely loved both of them, nice strong cocktail with real, fresh ingredients that was thrown together perfectly! And the food was so delicious and huge portions, I still had heaps left to take back to my hotel for later.

Last but certainly not least, thank you to Erika, Aya and Nydia for their absolutely wonderful service that made my night so lovely. Even though I was alone and chose to sit off to the side a bit, I felt so looked after and taken care of the entire time, thank you so much for giving the restaurant such a lovely vibe and being so friendly and kind. I saw a lady next to me clicking you over to her table because they decided they wanted dessert, they weren’t even waiting and you guys had just checked on them yet they impatiently clicked one of you over and whoever it was treated them just as lovely as anyone else there. Truly can’t credit you enough, I have worked in hospitality and nothing annoys me more than people like that, and you handled it all in your stride. You guys were lovely and friendly no matter what and looked after everyone with 5 star service, thank you! The man at the bar who took my payment was also lovely!

We were having such a wonderful night with the family. Live music was great. Service was slow and had to keep calling waiters over to get drinks and make an order. Waited over 45 mins for our meals. When I said my meal was mainly pure pork belly fat and had requested on several occasions that I would like a replacements for those pieces, they kept saying that they will serve me another bowl but it will be exactly the same. I kept saying I do not want another bowl, I want two pieces of pork meat and fat not just FAT!! I’m not saying small pieces but massive portions almost half the portion of what would be the dish. Wasted. Who would serve pure portions of just pork fat? I get that this would be needed to help flavour the dish, but not serve on someone’s meal. This completely ruined our night - as they kept insisting on giving me the exact same thing so to say, this is how it’s served. 3 pieces of meat and pork, and 2 massive pieces of pure fat! What a joke! Listen to your customers when then say this is not what we ordered! Yes I got frustrated with you because you would not listen, instead, I scooped the fat in the a plate and told you to take it back so you can see for yourselves what I’m talking about. You have a customer and ruined what would’ve been a wonderful night. Instead of simply doing as you were requested you got me so upset.

Response- my request was very simple, I do not want a replacement of another full meal, I simply wanted 2 cut portions of pork that was not only fat. You gave 5 pieces of pork, 3 of which is acceptable. I dished those to my daughters and 1 for me. The rest was just fat. I understand pork belly is fatty, pieces of only fat is not ok as you cannot eat this. And yes I cook with this meat regularly. Listen to your customers - and the wait was more than 45 minutes hence why I got frustrated waiting for food. If you have a read at your reviews many others are also saying your service is slow and average food. And no I don’t do this to other restaurants, only ones like yourselves who refuse to listen to customers request. Once again my request was simple from the start, give me two normal portions of pork belly, with meat and fat, not just fat. Problem solved.
