What a fabulous suburban gem - unpretentious with a little retro charm and overall outstanding! Svetlana was a courteous, friendly, and engaging hostess and the other staff were equally amazing. The food was incredible - real comfort food that was tasty, generously-sized, and very reasonably priced. It is hard to believe how the kitchen staff can produce such fabulous food so quickly in their limited space - very impressive. We were lucky enough to be there for live entertainment (every 2nd Saturday). The vocalists were very talented and sang traditional Ukranian through to contemporary numbers. Once the dancing started we retreated to the quiet and calm of the bar area to enjoy meringue cake for dessert (yes it was as good as it sounds) - along with fresh mint tea that had cinnamon bark, anise, and Ukranian syrup (that I can't pronounce) which was intriguing and very enjoyable. Myself and my mum enjoyed a very special evening at the Brisbane Ukraine club on Friday night. We were greeted by Svetlana. Your warm nature and professional service made us feel really welcome. The conversations we had and what you shared touched our hearts. A special thank you for looking after us so well! The atmosphere in the club was so homely and cozy and the food was absolutely delicious. Our mains were very tasty and our desserts, honey cake and crepes were superb. The bar has a wide range of flavoured and non flavoured Ukrainian vodkas as well as Ukrainian beer and kvast. Thank you Masha and Pietr for your friendly service and drink recommendations.

As someone who loves supporting community clubs, I was impressed with this place. I think more restaurants like this are needed as they offer a taste of tradition and bring back memories of what simple food should taste like instead of the fancier new inventions that we often see today.
