Tingal Road Seafoods — Restaurant in Brisbane City

Calamari were rubbery. Chips were passable but not great. Potato scallop was awful, very oily. A snappy lady took my order over the phone. I went in and paid the gentleman who works there and added a can of drink to the total. I put the can of drink in my handbag to free up my left arm (which was wrapped in a large icepack after recent surgery). The gentleman by now had walked out the back. The lady packing up my food threw it on the counter, pointed at my handbag (with the can in it) and yelled at me "YOU PAY FOR THAT??!!". Food was as bad as the service. Yes it reminds me of my childhood fish and chip shops because I have a feeling that's when they last changed their oil. I feel bad for the gentleman, he was lovely. I won't be back - plenty of better fish and chips...

I went in on Tuesday evening to order some dinner. I wasnt totally sure what I wanted so perused the cabinet and menu boards. I was the only one in the shop. The lady behind the counter didnt even acknowlege me or greet me. I said I was ready to order but she didnt respond but just walked out the back of the shop. After standing there fior a few minutes, i left.

I sought this shop out as I was in the area and used to buy regiularly from this shop in the 90s when I used to work in the area. I couldnt believe how poor the service was. Perhaps she was deaf and didnt hear me asking to order but that doesnt excuse the rudeness. If that is an issue for her, then she should probably hire someone with actual customer service skills.

Looks like a small family owned establishment. Gave it ago as I read the reviews and most of them stated they have the best chips. I ordered a steak burger with the lot and added on $6 chips with three small dim sims. The steak burger was good, nothing too amazing.. can't go wrong. The chips were crunchy and well seasoned. My partner and I did drive 10mjns to find a place to eat and they were still delicious. I also bought a tub of sauce and two drinks totally around $30. Not too bad. Only downside is the customer service. The woman servijg me came off as rude. She shoved the bag of food into my direction and said "here you go" and left.
