Very disappointed in the service tonight. Long review ahead. TL:DR - service is incredibly poor. Food took forever to come out, in the end would have been 40 minutes.
When we arrived, we were told we have to be done within an hour as it's very busy. We did not have a booking, so that is fine, we agreed to do so. We were stopped at the front to make sure we check in - perfectly fine. Check in app NOT set up, have to do it online. Ok that's fine. We were abruptly left alone after being reinforced to do the check in leaving us unsure what to do. We were finally ushered in.
Now, this was a very busy night and I always try to be understanding. We had to press the bell FOUR times before we finally had someone come to serve us. We ordered and all was fine.
My friends got bibimbap, and I got a stew. We were given our pancake as starters. It took a while before the 2 bibimbap came. The following events were the upsetting part. We had 3 other tables that came after us, and all of them began receiving food. One table with BBQ and that food came FAST. I decided to wait a bit longer, and at 25 minute mark I thought I better ask. Took a while before someone came to check. Food started coming for the other 2 tables that came after. When asked, she said she would check. Took another 5 minutes to come back to tell me it would be another 5 minutes. This would've been 40 minutes of waiting and I'd had enough.
We were sitting there with a table of 3, 2 meals came, no one thought to check? We were passed by MANY waiters during this time. I decided this kind of attitude is just not worth my time so I cancelled my order. As we went to pay, I made sure to mention something at the front - in a nice way, just stating that I was deeply disappointed at the delay, the lack of service, lack of trying to rectify it, and how other tables all got things way ahead of us even though they came 20 minutes after us. Despite me expressing my dismay, all I got was 'I'm so sorry'. Which is fine, I get it, it's a busy night, but that's it, nothing else. No apologies from manager. I did not speak to the girl at the front any further as I know she's just the waitress, and she could not help it (though so many wait staff walked past without even bother checking) and it wouldn't be fair to her. But to not even have someone else higher up come out to apologise or explain is just unacceptable. Don't rush us, say we have to be done within an hour and then delay our service so badly? We ended up staying over an hour anyway as service was so poor and so slow.
HOWEVER. To be fair, food is very delicious here. I will still give this place another attempt. I hope I can change this review from a 2...
Read moreTok tok was the first proper Korean BBq place I’ve ever been too and it’s legit Amazing. The sides they gave with the dishes was so amazing. They included radish, pickled garlic, kimichi, potato salad something else and that’s all. There was such a great portion I wished I took a photos but it was so good I just like ate it al up. The sides were free I believe ( I’m unsure) Now the food it was spectacular, the bbq beef with the set oh my goodness so delicious and juicy, the workers were so kind and caring and very helpful which I am so great full for. The people that might wonder if the Kimichi was fermented well, it indeed was well it was the most fermented kimchi I’ve ever had so it tasted good crunchy and juicy. I got 2 stone pots and both had different tastes one was more vegetables and the other one was more beef both were really good but slightly disappointing. I’ve eaten better ones but it’s still good. The scenery was nice and food was good the only thing with the staff was that when the dishes were done we began to stack them and they seemed to not take it which caused us to have the plates to either fall or spill on someone which was annoying but I understand they were busy but I hoped next time I go they get my dishes that were done slightly faster. In addition I would say the price for it was slightly more expensive than I thought so if you’re going make sure of the price. However the tteboki was so good, the rice cake was so soft and chewy probably the best one I’ve ever had tbh and it’s spicyness was just right. I unfoursntley didn’t get the one with CHESSE but I’m hopping to try it next time as well as other dishes. Overal this place is a solid 5 stars with minor tweaks it would prob be even better bht overal amazing place...
Read moreWas really excited to try TokTok again after their renovation, until a few things that went wrong which makes us feel disappointed about this place very quickly.
Reservation through google or their website is pending request approval by restaurant, which we understand on a busy night they may not be able to attend to it (we booked an hour beforehand for 6:30pm). We were advised might have to wait until 7pm but got a seat at 6:40pm which we found reasonable and exceeded expectation that was set.
The disappointing fact was, meat still didn’t arrive after 20 minutes of waiting. We had to call a waitress over to check, which another waitress returned with a plate of meat saying “so sorry about the wait, I cut this meat for another table but you guys can have this first” - which we felt that second half of statement was absolutely unnecessary given our order was delivered to the wrong table. Someone did come and checked if we ordered a bowl of rice, which we said yes to but 30 minutes later it still wasn’t served. We had to ask again, which this time, no apologise was made.
Food was okay overall, wasn’t very impressed with $150 2-3ppl set which doesn’t include rice just seems a bit stingy, and they still charge 1.5% for card transactions. Quality of meat was fine, but for rump to be included in that set and price point that was paid for, I can confidently say that there’s a handful of other kbbq restaurants in Brisbane that can do way better. Reading through previous reviews, it seems other customers have similar experience with long wait (30 minutes) for food and for this to happen it shows that owner simply doesn’t care enough. Sorry but wouldn’t...
