Our Canteen 我家食堂 — Restaurant in Brisbane City

I have never put any negative review on google as I believe if theres nothing good to say it’s better not to say anything however this place worth a review. Was starving while in this area so didn’t check google review before going in. We ordered stir fried noodles with pork and beans, sweet and sour pork and a bowl of steamed rice. A number of people commented the service in this place is slow (40 mins for one dish to come out), to our surprise, the sweet and sour pork came out within 5 mins. The colour of the dish was completely different to the picture, it looks dark and quite unappetising. The pork was not hot, dry and tough. Yup it tasted like it’s been reheated by microwave. Ordered 4 dishes waited over 1 hour. We looked at other tables to see what's the go with the long waiting time. Let's be fair here, if its a full house and they are busy its fair for the wait. But we looked around there's 2 tables include us 3 table with around 6 people all up.

We waited and then asked them "How long till we get our food". Was told its coming......

Waited maybe 15 more mins. We thought that's enough and just walked out, without saying a word. We fully paid for the food. life's too short to argue. If that's the way the owners choose to run their business; Nice keep carrying on like this.

Should off look up review for this shop first. Seems like a lot of people is having the same experiences as me.

Loved the cumin lamb; the other dishes ("sugar crispy pork", "pippy soup") not so much.

The inside of the restaurant is a bit rundown, but it's about the food!

The service was slow, took almost an hour from ordering (it wasn't too busy table-wise).

I liked the "mala beans" but could only handle a few as they were way too spicy for my tastebuds, order only if you can handle...
