Hikari Japanese Kitchen & Cafe is an amazing cafe that’s def worth checking out. From the atmosphere to the food everything really good.
The workers are really kind and nice really helpful and great customer service. This cafe is really spacious which is nice. The area is clean , modern and really welcoming.
The events that are held at this place is so cool. I just started to follow there instagram and they have really amazing events and I hope to go to one soon. The cute totorro themed deco for the tables are so cute. For those that lose totorro they also held events that en okie totorro.
The food is really good. I went to in the morning to try the breakfast options and they were really good. I wished the had a few more options for breakfast but it’s still really good. The katsu sandwhich is to die for so anyone looking to try it def get it. Katsu lovers come here!!!! 100% worth it. Prob best katsu sandwhich I’ve had in a whileeee!!! The lunch menu looks so delicious, the next time I come I am so trying the lunch options. Hikari Japanese Kitchen & Cafe is definitely very cute and queit but it does get busy around 10-12 meaning that those who wanna try here come early!!! The drink variety is really good and I was so excited to try their matcha. Their matcha was a beautiful vibrant green which is good sign. Could be a little sweeter but it was really good for a cafe. Definitely going back and trying their matcha or other drinks but definitely their desserts. I was so sad I couldn’t get the chance to try their desserts but they look so good. I really want to come back soon to try it!!! Their prices are relatively cheap pretty reasonable and portions are good size
Overall amazing place , amazing workers atmosphere and food definitely worth checking out!! 1000000/10...
Read moreCoffee was good. But there's not much of a breakfast selection even though they open quite early. The food was pretty lack luster after waiting for 30 minutes.
Edit: I don't usually elaborate but since I see the restaurant is new, I'd like to offer some advice with some helpful suggestions.
For example, if the food is mainly lunch/dinner focused I would recommend moving the hours to start later, at around lunch time. The lunch menu starts at 9:30, which is very early. In which case opening later would coordinate better between the menu and the hours.
If they wish to start this early, some reduction in other items overall and to introduce more breakfast items would be great. Something like bread or pancakes or more breakfast oriented foods. The three main food I saw offered for the whole day was sandwiches, omurice, and giant deconstructed riceballs. Which are not really breakfast foods. Even some pre-made foods like croissants would compliment their coffee well, which itself was quite well made.
The long wait time can be attributed to the lack of number of sufficient staff. When I was in there there were quite a few tables full, which is great, but it is hard for only one or two people to serve the whole restaurant.
General advice I would give is this: Keep it simple, and do it well.
While it is a 3 star at the moment, I look forward to re-visiting the place in a couple of months to see if there have been any improvements to give it...
Read moreI usually don’t write bad reviews but there’s a lot of room for improvement for this cafe. I understand this restaurant opened recently but looks like processes and procedures are not up to standard yet. First off the food took over 30mins to come out, and each dish came out at random order, I ordered my meal first but it came out after all my friends had ordered. The sauce on my friend’s omurice was cold. Food tasted ok to good depending what was ordered. My beef katsu was a bit lean and tough. There’s a confusion to what we had ordered, drinks were brought to our table when we didn’t order drinks, my friend ordered a beef katsu but got pork katsu. Seems like there’s miscommunication between kitchen and front staff. However, staff were friendly and tried to work hard. The atmosphere was nice but so loud when it’s full, so the sound proofing isn’t good. This is one of those restaurants I’ll try once but unlikely to return. Food is overpriced and taste just average. I think $20+ for a sando or onigiri is just too much even with the current inflation rate with cost of living. Additionally there’s a 1.2%...
