Wine Experience — Restaurant in Brisbane City

I would like to start off by saying that I don’t usually leave reviews but this experience was so weird, I felt compelled to leave one. My partner and I sat by the bar and were given menus by a sommelier with curly hair, was provided water and that was it, no pleasantries, no anything - she just walked away. We waited 20mins for service (we had an hour timer on as we were waiting for a table at Uncle Don). All other customers had drinks already and were well settled into conversations. The sommelier who gave us water was free the entire time along with the other sommeliers. We were giving them the eyes as well however upon locking eyes, they would just simply proceed to do something else. I’m not sure if it was the way we looked or dressed or something else, but we just stood up and left as we felt so uncomfortable. Which is disappointing as we had been there before and found the experience...

This has been our local for years and we are always impressed at their selection of cult classic wines from all regions, especially impressed at their Australian, French, Italian, German, and South African selections. From Sancerre to Sorrenberg, they have some of the best wines you can find and the staff are so lovely in helping find something specific. The prices are so manageable as well.. some of the best bottles we’ve had range from $20-25 and of course there are options all the way up. Discounts available on case purchases as well. They have a beautiful wine bar that gets very busy (understandable!) and recommend to book in advance...

Ten stars. Having discovered some amazing Cremant supplies by WE, I have made ~5 orders for delivery in 2024. Wines recommended have been incredible and delivered fast. You can judge a business not by when things are going well, but when there are issues. In a recent instance wine was ordered but rts (assumed due to breakage), replacement carton of wine was sent immediately and arrived the following day. Whilst breakage was beyond WE control their response was perfect and ensured the Missus had her supply of Cremant at the ready for Xmas. Highly recommend this bottleshop & I hope to visit and try some wines...
