Summary: Don’t order food, particularly pizza, it’s overpriced, oven microwaved, and not worth it. Don’t go during peak times it’s understaffed. Not a date location as you can’t hear anything the other person says.
— We attended for a birthday party last night out the front section of this Bar/Restaurant. Food was overpriced preferring quantity over quality and the staff, though initially enthusiastic, rapidly became visibly burnt out as the night wore on. They were the same 2 people serving the entire food section the entire night and we felt quite sorry for them as our glasses and plates piled up while they ran around.
Our dinner, a pepperoni pizza ($27), took almost an hour to come out, and when I complained at the 45 minute mark I was offered an explanation that unfortunately “that’s just how long it takes sometimes when it gets busy as we unfortunately have a small kitchen”.
Later, the nice waitress came and informed me she’d spoken to her manager and could offer a single drink as compensation while we waited. I’m disgusted the manager sent her out, instead of having the respect of coming themselves.
The pizza then shortly emerged - oven microwaved to within an inch of its life, with classic burnt bits on the crust, incredibly hot, yet also with undercooked cheese/toppings and a wet centre. Have a look at other photos on here. I could have walked to Dominos in Paddington, picked up a pepperoni pizza for $8 and it would have been faster and better quality!!
The music was loud at 80+ decibels based on my multiple Apple Watch warnings, so we were shouting at each other despite being seated across the table. There was a live DJ - not sure what their brief was aside from “pump the music” because they were jamming out nightclub/dance music (in a pub??), and the remaining menu was essentially pub food (chips, breads, pizzas, parmigiana) at eye watering restaurant prices.
The most disappointing thing were the two wait staff (guy & gal) on shift were being flogged with tasks to within an inch of their working lives, without the manager anywhere to be seen.
Would not recommend this establishment outside of being a side place for a quick drink. It’s a pub masquerading as a restaurant charging exorbitant prices for mediocre offerings, with a side of...
Read moreArrived just after 1pm, it’s now 4pm & our pizza order has just been refunded. At 1hr 20mins we recieved kids fries, tiny plate, half burnt. At 1.5hrs we recieved warm olives. At 1hr45mins we recieved a Hawaiian pizza which all the pineapple was on one piece. Recieved another pizza & salad about 20mins after that. 3rd pizza never arrived and at 2.5hrs when inquiring they offered a refund. On a high note. Disco beer is 👌🏽But cocktails meh. Packed as area desperate for a venue like this but plenty of other Brisbane venues walk all over the Patio. Shame as we were here to celebrate a birthday. Also for context, we are in the hospitality industry so completely understand days can go sideways, but Communication was zero tho & we all...
Read moreWent last night with my partner and two children. First attempt at drinks was mixed, my range session ale was good but the Sauvignon blanc was undrinkable. Second time around the shiraz was better but expensive. Limited soft drink options for kids with only bottled coke or lemon squash on tap. Food was poor, the stonefruit salad had way too much kale and the nectarine was underripe, the pizzas were overcooked dripping with oil, and the flavouring on the hot chips was powdery. The meals all came out individually with at least 15 minutes in-between that meant we were all eating at separate times which when out with children is challenging. We are keen to support local businesses but after this experience we...
