Charlotte's at the Grand — Restaurant in Broken Hill

Went in to say hello to some friends and were asked to leave as we had not ordered anything. Met up with a cranky staff member who did not bother to explain any of the rules around dining in their establishment. By osmosis we were supposed to guess. She could have kindly explained the situation but did not at any time point to the signs explaining their rules as was mentioned in her response.

We were not asked what we would like to order just told to leave based on some covid excuse. Well lost my business. Not a way to build goodwill. I think by providing a response does not in any way explain away poor service. I think this staff member needs to find an occupation that does not involve interaction with the public. I can only conclude the staff member involved was related to the owner otherwise why would you employ someone who forces potential customers...

Walked in and found the place very neat and clean. I had a steak sandwich with the lot, 10 out of 10, brilliant. Recommend it. Partner had salmon patties with salad and chips, real salad mind you, tomato, real lettuce, cucumber, beetroot and grated carrot. The lady serving was very nice polite. Checked with us during the meal and asked if all was okay. I really recommend this place...

I wouldn’t even give it one star. Ask for coffee before meal as have a serious medical condition (no stomach) Meal came 1st and they expected me to put it aside and go cold while I have my coffee (which still wasn’t made). Walked out distressed without having either meal or coffee. All for the price of a small bowl of chips!! $15 wasted. Very bad...
