What a disappointing evening. Firstly was told that we could not book a table for dinner as there was a function booked in sports bar and that bookings will only be taken after 7:30pm because the kitchen said so. Therefore we chose to come in a little earlier and take a table near the bar area. We were pleasantly surprised to see the dining room totally empty. As per the picture. We ordered at 5:30 and the meals came out about 15mins later. They all looked lovely however the beef brisket daily special was so tough and full of fat that it was almost inedible. See picture. The side salad is a disgrace with handfuls of lettuce a small scrap of thin sliced carrot, diced red onion and one tiny sliver of a cucumber. Lucky there was a larger piece of tomato. This is not the first time we have been let down by the food. It absolutely fathoms me as to why the kitchen seems to rule the decisions being made at this club. So who is in charge and who is making the decisions about what works. No wonder the Musicians leads the way. They have listened to their members and go from strength to strength. The once synonymous Demo, the leader of a seafood buffet, great daily specials and beautifully cooked and presented food. I constantly ask myself why I should stay as a member. All our family and friends also feel the same and choose to go elsewhere when seeking a great night out to eat. This just builds on from a previous experience when there was a steak special where the kitchen would not cook a steak well done for one of our family members. So again it's the kitchen who lost the meals as 8 of us walked out. Even after speaking to the duty manager on the night, who agreed with us, was also unable to explain why it could not be done, but the kitchen made the decision. Come on Demo you should be looking after your heritage and wanting to be the number one destination in Broken Hill.

This place has good and delicious lamb, pork and beef roasts, nice dinner rolls and great complimentary desserts depends; the pavlova and fruit was the best one so far😁👍. They have delicious cheesy garlic bread 😋 must try, and great and tasty beef schnitzel with a nice garlic sauce, and tasty veggies & salad, having big portions. Good lemon lime bitters too. The beef steak; surf & turf is flavourful & cooked well so delicious. The oysters kilpatrick is tasty it’s worth it. Inconsistent service sometimes can take a long time to get your food it depends. Comfortable sitting and nice atmosphere, thanks guys👍✌️. Mexican Parmy is the best! With fresh jalapeños, chips & veg😃😋👌 Photos by: jesusbelievers_noah I.G & F.B

On Friday 6/10 we went to the Demo for a birthday gathering, 12 people. I'm posting a pic of my meal. That mush was meant to be a Chicken Wellington. The pastry was steamed, not baked and the rest of the meal was horrendous. The chicken snittys were all close to burnt and way overdone. When the waitress came to clear the table we told her about our meals, all unfinished , she passed the information on to the kitchen staff. Not one person came to the table to speak to us about the meals There is a bistro manager I believe and she only came to our table once we had all moved away. The only positive out of our eating experience at the Demo was our lovely waitress. The food was sub standard to say the least

Visiting from Adelaide and I don’t have anything nice to say. We rang and booked and asked for an outside table so the younger kids could play on the playground. We went 30mins later to our booking to be told that they shut outside and placed us on a different table. I had to ask where menus were as none were given or in view. Complained that the only ID I had (I’m 40) was a SA digital ID. Then lined up for 30mins to order our food, then another 10mins to get drinks. Food was very average. A lot of food wasted. Garlic bread the worst I’ve ever had anywhere. We’re not given kid activity books that were part of kids meal. Autistic child got in trouble for sitting on the floor (we would’ve never gone if they told us the playground was closed). Then waited about 30mins for kids ice cream. Watched so many staff members walk past and not one said anything. When asked if someone would serve us the reply was “if someone walks by”. Absolutely disgraceful service and they should be ashamed of themselves. Definitely not a family friendly place and do not attempt to go here if you don’t want to stand in line for 30 plus minutes. Avoid...

I'm up in Broken Hill for work, been here two days, just had dinner at the Demo.

Tonight on the advice of Pauline doing the maitre d', I had the special, steak and ribs. I was pretty dubious because it was all of $21, but I went for it anyway. It was great. Then I splashed out all of eight bucks for dessert (cheesecake & soft serve ice cream)

My local pub in the Inner West in Sydney charges $32 for a rump steak (because they can I guess). The last one I had was like an old boot. My whole meal tonight was less than that and five times as good. It's not fine dining but it's a good feed, and the steak was tender, juicy and nicely grilled.

And the staff were uniformly lovely, right from the security guy outside to the kitchen staff who waited until I'd finished my main, even though the kitchen was closed, before bringing out my dessert.

Thanks,...
