Absolute worst customer service experience ever! Ordered via the app and picked up through drive through - ordered 2 cheeseburgers (with no beef patty and extra pickles/onion), one hamburger with no pickles/onion, a garden salad with balsamic dressing, medium fries and iced chai. The wait times weren’t great which is fine but on top of everything else we experienced made the situation way worse. First round through we picked up our order and continued on - I started opening the burgers a minute after leaving to discover that the two cheeseburgers still had patty’s and the hamburger had 2 patty’s, and I had no balsamic dressing. Decided to go back because the order was so mucked up and had to wait a long time again to go back through again. Got to the pay window, explained the situation and got told to go down to the collection window. Once there the other worker had no idea and said the order should’ve been rectified at the pay window. Anyway, we showed her the order on our app and she had a quick look and then went to sort it ( we asked for the burgers and fries to be replaced as by this time they were cold and soggy after waiting in line). After a little while she came back with the burgers and I made sure to check them again - STILL WRONG 🤦♀️ Still beef patty’s in the cheeseburgers even though I ordered them without. We told her and she said they reprinted the order slip and it doesn’t say no beef patty, are we sure we ordered it properly? So we showed on the app where it clearly said no beef patty’s on the two cheeseburgers, we said it must be a glitch but she didn’t seem very interested to hear what we had to say. During this time everyone behind us was having to wait way longer because our order kept getting mucked up. She then came back with the cheeseburgers without patty’s and left again without bringing the replacement fries - at this point we were over it so we just left. Meanwhile, no offer of a refund or anything like that. Super disappointed and shocked at the experience - didn’t think it could get worse until we got home and my partner bit into his hamburger to find a 1.5 inch long wood splinter - beyond dangerous, could’ve choked or gotten it lodged in his throat. Read moreI experienced a frustrating situation at the drive-through of the Burnie McDonald's. After waiting in line for 10 minutes, which is typical for this location, I was processed at the final window within 3 minutes. However, my order, which included three items, only contained two.
Upon inquiry, the server checked my order and informed me that they had run out of the missing item, which had been removed from their display. When I asked if I could order something else, I was told I would need to either re-enter the drive-through queue or place a new order inside the restaurant. Frustrated, I drove away, but the server did not return the items he had taken to check.
When I arrived home, I realized I was missing the other items in my order, which were meant for my kid’s dinner. I called the restaurant and asked to speak with the manager, who turned out to be the same person from the drive-through window. He asked me to come back to the restaurant and promised a new order.
Upon returning, I was told to wait in line again as there were over 10 orders ahead of mine. When I inquired if I needed to stay in the queue, he confirmed that I did. The entire experience was extremely frustrating, and I left the restaurant without my order.
This incident wasted my entire evening and left me questioning the customer service, quality, and respect at the McDonald's in Burnie. The lack of competition in Burnie appears to be contributing to these...

April 1st 2025. With my breakfast order presented my Senior Card and asked for a tea. When it arrived it was a small tea but I asked for a medium. Advised by staff it was their policy only to serve a small for a senior's card. Apparently McDonald's Burnie can't spare the extra 50ml of hot water. Informed the short chubby brown haired host that they always had previously gave me a medium cup over the past 2 years. "So...that's not our policy". And she walked away with the small tea went to her manager and started pointing at me whilst snarnling. Never got a tea and no this isn't an April's Fools joke.
Sept 2024. Stopped in for breakfast. Delivery truck blocking drive through. Went in to order. Waited 15 minutes and still no one at front counter to serve you. Worst customer service in Burnie, most likely Tasmania. Avoid if you want to be fed.
Complaint 2. Ordered a big mac meal. Waited 20 minutes. Chips were cold and asked for them to be replaced.
