4.6 Mighty good place this one. First, it needs to be appreciated that Chihuahua is a hole in the wall joint in the middle of an arcade with a few tables and chairs. Thereās no pretence. Itās essentially a little Mexican fast food outlet. But, if you like great food donāt let that worry you in the slightest. You can always go for that fancy restaurant lunch or dinner another time. If itās great food youāre after and you want it quickly and simply without fuss, then this is your place. We had two types of tacos, the pulled pork and the fish. Both were outstanding. Like fantastic. Theyāre a very good size, superbly cooked and presented and absolutely packed full of flavour. We loved them. Theyād be a stampede where I come from for Mexican food this good at these prices. We love a bit of heat as well and also had a serve of the jalapeƱo poppers to finish. This was a wise choice. The poppers were awesome too. Really tasty with just the right amount of warmth that lingered beautifully. Iād read the other reviews about Chihuahua and thought theyād be a fair bit of hype to them. I was wrong. This is a great place and clearly the one around town with a buzz about it going from the locals we talked to. To top it off the service was wonderful. Bright, cheery and very efficient. This is a great place. We strongly recommend it.

My wife and I recently dropped in to Chihuahua Taqueria for a last minute lunch and boy where we glad we did. We were greeted by a very friendly young man who ran us through the options and took our cocktail order. Drinks came out fast and were delicious. The tacos werenāt far behind. They are big, $10 each or 2 for $19 is great value as they are bursting with fresh and beautifully cooked ingredients and packed full! My personal favourite was the calamari, Iāve never had a calamari taco but this thing was amazing. Calamari so tender someone without teeth could eat this taco. š The battered fish and beef were also delicious but the calamari was out of this world. We were also given three bottles of sauces ranging from mild to hot that are all made in store. My favourite was the yellow (hot) pineapple habanero. Delicious. I highly recommend the tacos here, the nachos we saw on other tables also looked great. Amazing food and cocktails and friendly helpful staff.

Amongst the glut of places to eat in Byron, Chihuahua stands apart. Itās a bit off the Main Street, so a bit more chill. Got a park directly outside (on NYE!!) It has an open front with louvre windows that catches a refreshing breeze. The decor is basic yet comfy. The background music was doof-ish but subdued, The food is so wonderfully suited to the climate and the drink menu perfectly matched. Even a simple beef taco with classic margarita is freshly made, beautifully presented and super delish! Go further for amazing local fish or pulled pork tacos with house cocktails and the day floats away in a blissful combo of delight. Almost forgot to mention the sides - the Mexico City fries were so good! The staff were very warm, friendly and accomodating. Not always possible to get food, service and atmosphere so well balanced in Byron (especially the service). Definitely going back!

Iāve been consistently let down by Mexican spots in this country but this is the closest thing to authentic Mexican food that Iāve found in all of Australia thus far! Ordered the jalapeƱo poppers (incredible), and one each of the chicken and pork tacos - chicken was great but pork was staff recommended because itās astounding!! Even has the crispy chicharrones crackling on top! The lovely female cashier is from Mexico so you know itās legitimate and probably canāt go wrong with anything on this menu. Darcey was also an absolute delight and really wonderful to chat with! Great friendly staff, awesomely fresh and flavorful food, cool casual vibe for a quick sit down bite, and they also have decent toilets - whatās not to love?! Next time Iām in Byron Iāll definitely be back!

BEST tacos Iāve ever had, honestly 11/10! š® Delicious flavours, they are so generous with the fillings, bombastic sauce (especially the pineapple sauce, a MUST TRY!š) and amazing service š©· so happy to find this little gem in this beautiful town š We had the quesadilla, Pescado and Tempura Queso tacos and both were really flavourful! Ordered more after realising how delicious it was, and had Cerdo and Pollo tacos which were lovely, filled with lots of fillings. The staffs were attentive and lovely people, service was pretty quick as well. Thank you so much guys! Out of all the taco places Iāve had in Melbourne, Chihuahua Taqueria beats them all š Definitely coming back for more in the future and also hoping that theyāll open a shop in Melbourne ā¤ļø!!

Great little hidden taco/nachos gem of a place in the centre of town. FOOD: Simple, short menu. The majority of which is gluten free. Some vegan and vegetarian options exist too. Reasonably priced meals in good serving sizes. The quality of meat on the pulled beef nachos was soooo good! Staff are happy to tailor to suit you too. PARKING: Free on street parking ACCESSIBILITY: Fine for those with prams/wheelchairs... Outside seating area even allows for those with dogs. Nearby shared toilet (with other nearby cafes in complex) was clean. STAFF: Lovely, bubbly staff. Happy to help out with suggestions. OVERALL: Would recommend and go again.
