The blonde girl with wavy hair and the striped black and white t-shirt who took our order on Thursday morning was absolutely not in the mood to work ahah we said thank you all the time and she did not even look interested to respond or be polite once. We saw her serving other tables and she was extremely rude to everyone. Also, we ordered the mushroom dish which is not worth the money. It's just a bunch of mushrooms with some roasted potatoes and some rocket on top, not worth the money at all. I also asked for a piece of bread and it took 10/15 minutes for it to come. I ate slowly to keep up with my friends but when it arrived I was almost done. I asked the same rude girl and she could have asked the chef for a slice of bread asap (?) since it was just bread, but again she did not look like she cared or provided good customer service. People probably go there more for the eggs, but the customer service lacks a bit, hope she gets a training on how to smile.
EDIT for the owner: If the owner would put the same sarcasm in the training of the staff maybe there would be better reviews ;)
Also, someone who suffers a loss should deserve a day off or so because the attitude of the staff affects the business, and remember you are talking to a customer and not a friend, dear owner, maybe take the reviews as a tip of why someone (if they are going through something) should stay home or someone who does not have the right attitude should be trained, I am sure you are not 16 years old to get touchy and respond to Google reviews with bad jokes. A real business as you can see in other places has a standard response to complaints where they leave the email and want to investigate further because sometimes it's just a misunderstanding and the review can be taken down, but apparently you do not have enough maturity! Also, I just saw the owner's other responses to other customers. Mate go and talk to someone, because you may be a little too frustrated with customers. Kindness is free, no one is offensive here, we are just reporting facts that happened in your business that should be improved. The only one who has a bad attitude here is yourself. You have ruined the reputation of the place even more,...
Read moreDIP Cafe appears on all the “best breakfast in Byron Bay” lists, so I had to give it a try. It offers a straightforward yet satisfying dining experience with a touch of French flair. The name stands for “Dining In Paris” - as it aims to transport you to 1930s Paris, but with less pale Parisian chain smoking philosophers discussing Dali in the Café de Flore in Saint-Germain-des-Prés, and more healthy, well tanned patrons embracing their vapes after a morning spent hitting the surf on edibles.
The setup is simple and unpretentious, perfect for a relaxed brunch. I tried their Croque Madame, which was well-executed: a classic French sandwich with crispy toasted organic sourdough bread, a good amount of nice ham, melted cheese, topped with a fried egg and bechamel sauce featuring a hint of blue cheese.
It was hearty and flavorful, exactly what you'd want from this dish, I couldn’t finish it - but was delicious and filling.
I got a cold pressed Pineapple, Apple, Orange and Mint juice called a “Tropi-Cool” juice. It was a refreshing companion, with a fresh, vibrant taste that balanced the cheesy meal.
To finish off my French fare, my morning cappuccino was great. A good strong coffee with a smooth finish, not overly fancy but done right with a good hit of choccy on top.
DIP Cafe is a worthy contender for a best breakfast mention, if you like eggs and hollandaise sauce and big, bold breakfast flavours then their menu is full of them.
It nails the essentials, offering good food, coffee and service with good prices and a...
Read moreLast day in Byron finally made it to get a takeaway coffee and some croissants for the family from DIP. Nice vibe of the place and the staff with their cute french accents.
Ordered just one coffee and some takeway croissants and I asked can I just sit on the stool inside at bar and wait... the waitress said..or you can wait outside he will call your name??? I said umm ok..so i waited outside..she handed me the bags of croissants and im standing waiting for just one coffee. The barista kindly said after a while you can sit inside and wait if you like? I said its fine..(seeing as i was already standing and waiting for a while already what's the point).
No fault of the barista he was genuinely doing the best he could but i was the ONLY ONE takeaway coffee order which clearly got zero priority over the dine-ins.
When my name was finally called out, I got my husbands coffee and got no apology for the 15-20min wait or thanks or have a nice day .. it was disappointing overall experience and on top it started to rain on my walk back to the hotel.
After all that, the croissants didn't even taste that fresh or may have been cos the rains made the bags bit soggy, they were ok but nothing compared to the French Patisserie in Kingscliff or even The Farm at Byron was way better for that price takeaway for plain croissants that were nothing special was not worth the price...
