Waterbar & Grill Steakhouse — Restaurant in Cairns City

A couple of weeks ago, I pre booked a reservation for my husband and I wedding anniversary dinner. When we arrived we were greeted by Georgie/Georgia (sorry I cant remember) and was shown to our table. Our table was in a perfect spot, right at the front with a beautiful view of the marina, so already, our night was off to a good start. Throughout the night Georgie continually checked on us, even asking if we needed more drinks when our drinks were still half full, she was really on the ball. We ordered our meals, and we decided to treat ourselves to a $75 wagu each plus entrees. Our meals were perfection. Worth every cent. After we thought our night couldn't get better, we were offered a free glass of champage to celebrate our anniversary. This gesture to me, shows how much your staff care about their customers, and we are not treated as just another number to get in and get out to serve the next lot of customers that were lining up to be seated. The attention to detail, the constant presence of staff always checking up on us to make sure we didnt need anything else, was just amazing. We decided to order dessert as well, and yet again, they surprised us with just a simple gesture, but really made us feel special, by putting a sparkler on our dessert, and wished us a happy anniversary. We have 2 small children under 2, and we basically never get to have a night to ourselves. We are so appreciative for your staff, especially Georgie who made our night extra special. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. From start to finish, our night was perfect. It is my mothers birthday next week, and we will be booking another table to take her to our favourite restaurant, and BEST steaks in Cairns, or anywhere for that matter. And we've tried ALOT of steaks 😅.

When you arrive, your seated immediately. Quite often waiters are very quick to order your food and make you feel rushed however here they give you plenty of time to look at the menu before serving you which I really appreciated as there menu offers a wide range of meals. Definitely look at there menu on the website before attending to get an idea. All staff are professional, prompt and very kind. The bartenders made a smooth Mango Colada. It's great for people who don't like strong alcoholic drinks. The mango flavouring isn't overpowering either, very well balanced. The restaurant is a well oiled machine for many reasons. Not once did I see any staff waiting around. Everyone works as a team. All staff are very observant and help within minutes. I love how you can see the chefs cooking and preparing meals. There was approx. 6-7 chefs. After observing there movements, it was clear that the chefs had there own assigned roles which resulted in very little communication between them. The layout of the restaurant is beautiful. This place is perfect for romantic date nights or anniversaries. The lighting is very soft and elegant. My mind was blown after eating my meal. My steak was cooked to perfection, very tender and flavourful. I looked at the reviews before attending the restaurant and after I had to try the garlic mash. That garlic mash is terrific. Its not overpowering. While some dishes may seem expensive, the service and food definitely makes it worth visiting.

After such an amazing experience for our anniversary dinner a couple of weeks back, I thought it would be nice to come back for my husbands 40th birthday dinner. After thinking there was literally no way our experience could be any better than our anniversary dinner, you guys once again, went above and beyond for us, and made our night unbelievable. We were lucky enough to again, have Georgie as our waitress. She is by far, the best and most attentive waitstaff we have ever had the pleasure of meeting. She went well and truly out of her way to make our night extra special, and even organised everyone to come over and sing my husband happy birthday with a delicious sticky date pudding (highly recommended by the way). Our drinks were never empty, we were always checked up on, empty glasses were promptly removed, and of course a big shout out to your chefs for always cooking the most delicious meals. We were even greeted by 2 other staff that must have remembered us from our visit a couple weeks back and came and said hi and thanked us for returning. I dont know how you have managed to get so many amazing staff, but you must have them all working at Waterbar, because we eat out alot and no other restaurant in Cairns are as amazing as your staff. We had our relatives with us for dinner who brought up so many times after we left, how great they thought you all were and they also like to eat out often (they are from Toowoomba). I could keep rattling on and on about how amazing I think Waterbar and their staff are, but I'd be here all day. Once again, to every single one of you, (especially Georgie) Thank you....
