Just had the worst customer experience.
We placed a mobile order at this store and pick up through drive through. Had to wait for the food for more than 10 minutes. The spot we were waiting was actually at the exit of the drive through and some cars were waiting behind us.
When we arrived at our hotel, I found that there were three things missing. Tried to look up on the app and see if thereâs a help button on past order(like what UberEat or DoorSash would have). Didnât find. Tried calling the store multiple times. No one picked up.
When I finally spoke to a staff, first thing she said - people make mistake but we need the proof.
âŠ.. ok, did you mean photo of the food we half consumed that didnât contain my vegan hubbyâs only dinner option - apple pie and large fries?
Then she said I have to come to store, shower her the proof(?) for processing the refund for those two items.
Hello?? Sure, after waiting at your store for 15 minutes and I, who travelled whole day and just landed in Devonport with two exhausted and hungry children and a hubby who didnât get his food, would love to go back to your store and probably queue for another 15 for the refund that you could have done over the phone or from the app.
The staff who spoke with me over the phone certainly didnât have empathy as such, no basic customer service skill.
Customers wonât care about the mistake the staff make but bringing it up and used it as a defence and not willing to help the customer resolve the situation quickly, is bad. So...
Read moreShould be an option here for 0/5, I tried to order a dessert, the nice girl serving me couldn't seem to get ice-cream from the machine, she asked a manager if it was ok, interrupting her chat about boats and something going on over the weekend, she said, no it's fine and then the girl tried again and returned to the manager, still in social mode, explaining it appears to be not working, so the reply from the manager was, oh it must be broken then and continued with her chat.
I left but then decided maybe a couple of apple pies would be nice, returned and ordered from the machine to be more efficient.
15 minutes standing and waiting and watching a new manager socialising with 2 other staff while the original manager made herself a drink.
I ended up just asking for a refund and left empty handed.
Apparently, "apple pies don't come up on their screen" according to manager #2
This could be a nice little place to visit once in a while but I won't bother again.
I was not surprised at all to see the low rating for this place, if I were either of the managers of this place I'd be seeking some training, as I don't believe this is what the franchisee has in mind when buying into a McDonalds
I did try to fill out the feedback on the McDonalds Web pages but it's not working at present, time for some maintenance all...
Read moreâGood food, but emotionally assaulted by opera.â
Popped into Devonport McDonald's for a quick feed â nothing fancy, just some fries, a McChicken, and a frozen Coke to reset my soul.
Instead, I was greeted by what can only be described as a full-blown opera recital, echoing through the dining area like the ghost of Puccini himself had unfinished business in the PlayPlace.
The soprano was loud. Like, âshake the McNuggets off the trayâ loud. Donât get me wrong, she was talented â but thereâs a time and place for dramatic arias about heartbreak and death, and it is not while Iâm trying to eat a Filet-O-Fish in peace.
My fries went limp from emotional exhaustion. My Coke went flat out of respect for the tragedy unfolding. The toddler two booths down screamed back in perfect harmony. Unforgettable.
Pros: â Staff were lovely â Food was hot (initially) â Clean bathrooms
Cons: â Unexpected opera performance â Emotional whiplash â Couldnât hear myself chew
Would recommend only if youâre into dramatic dining or want to weep into your burger. Otherwise, bring headphones â or maybe a pair of opera glasses if you want the...
