McDonald’s Belconnen has an interesting older style playground. Manufactured by Megatoy (the company doesn’t exist anymore) it has a unique setup and features. A fun alternative to the new modern cube designs popping up at new McDonald’s.
I would still recommend it as a play location but would advise that it does have tighter(smaller) climbing gaps/platforms, lower roofs in some areas inside and less natural light coming inside the play structure than the modern ones so it might not be fun for all ages and abilities. Play area not very well lit.
Note - the playground is half indoors and half outdoors (but sealed so children can’t leave the building) but this may effect the structure becoming wet on the outdoor half.
Play structure features wall games at floor level for smaller children without having to climb up inside the structure.
The play structure starts inside the indoor room, then children are given two options Easy access to the slide (one slide) to come back out to the indoor area Follow the loop route that goes to the outside section of the playground, this section does get smaller in space and movements but takes children up a rocket and into a top viewing cube to see outside which is fun for little explorers.
Note - with route 2 they can’t leave except for coming back down the slide into the inside section, but you also can’t hear them that we’ll once they’ve gone to the outside section.
There is a door to the outside but it is signposted and locked. There is also a emergency locked hatch for the outdoor section in case staff need to open the play equipment.
Would recommend trying this playground for the...
Read moreMy 10yr old daughter received a quarter pounder with no cheese. No biggie so I took it to the counter to let them know. She had already put the chips in the other side of the box. All I wanted was them to whack some cheese on it so I could take it back to the table so we could eat together. However the manager came over. I told her the issue she immediately took the burger and chips without saying anything to me then proceeded to give the young lad cooking a smart arse comment about no cheese on a qtr pounder. And then she left the area. I was trying to get a word in to the dude out the back but it was too loud and too busy. Unfortunately the end result was the dude was pissed off and gave me a qtr pounder with cheese and a crap load of raw onion. It was spilling out the box let alone the burger. This is my 3rd bad experience here at Belconnen. Last time I had to wait 30mins for my order. They apologised as they handed me cold food as it had been sitting on the counter waiting for someone to change the milk for a frapee in the order. NEVER EVER AGAIN Belco maccas...
Read moreNot bad in the restaurant itself but using the drive through isn'ta great experience. I asked for a yogurt the other day and the girl on the window told me she couldn't find it on the screen so she didn't give it to us. She made no attempt to check with another staff member, just flat out said she couldn't find it so we couldn't get it. I had bought one there the night before and even though I told her that, she didn't seem to make any effort to find out about it. The drive through was not busy either, so she could've spared the time. In saying that though, I honestly never seem to get a happy or friendly person at the payment window, they are always seemingly misrable, impatient and unattentative considering they are in a customer service role, they make you feel like an inconvenience. Otherwise good service, always happy and friendly staff at the second window! Just the payment window attendants letting the...
