Taj Agra — Restaurant in District of Belconnen

PAFA organized a memorable Australia Day Dinner for the community. Although the initial seating was limited to 120, due to a dozen or more last-minute attendees, the venue graciously accommodated around 150 people, including kids.

The Taj Agra team provided exceptional service, remaining patient and professional throughout the event. They even went beyond our expectations by offering free hot fresh patatoo chips for the kids and adding two extra dishes—Chatt Papri and Curry—at no additional cost. They also served complimentary tea after the third course of sweets.

The entrée and dinner were served on time and hot, which is remarkable given the large crowd. There was a slight delay in food serving not because of Taj Agra but mostly due to children taking time to decide what to eat. However, the quality and taste of the food were outstanding, and guests thoroughly enjoyed the meal.

Special mention goes to Taj Agra for preparing a delicious vegetarian meal specifically for MLA Peter Cain. Their attention to detail and willingness to accommodate individual needs contributed greatly to the success of the event.

Overall, the Taj Agra administration's commitment to providing excellent service made this community event successful. Oh what a journey!

1 - My partner and I ordered food, and afterwards a table of 6 arrived, who received their food 15 minutes before us, even though arriving, and ordering after we had ordered...

2 - We ordered a mild Biryani which was delivered as quite spicy. When I raised this issue with the restaurant they were quick to respond and remake our dish. However in our updated dish lay a giant pepper waiting to strike. I was the unfortunate soul who came across this pepper, mistook it for a cucumber, and am now currently being driven home, feeling very ill (after a ~10 minute stint in the restaurants bathroom.)

Whether the restaurant cares more about larger groups as they generally order and therefore pay more, or just forgot about us? I don't know

Whether the cook spitefully burried a large pepper in the second Biryani on purpose, or put it in there without realising? I don't know

Either way, so you really want to go to a restaurant that either doesn't care about you and spikes your food, or forgets about you and accidentally puts foreign material in your food? I don't know, but I definitely wouldn't recommend it!

(Oh, and did I forgot about how they like to round your bill up to the closest dollar, even when paying on card? Pretty sure that's illegal...)

BARRA KABAB DISASTER We have always loved Taj Agra (since the original Belconnen restaurant 20+ years) and definitely have our favorite dishes.

Tonight we ordered several of our favorite dishes to share with family who were anticipating an amazing meal.

We ordered 3 serves of the barra kabab ($50) ... we never dine in or takeaway without ordering them because the are our favorite dish.

The order was not ready when I arrived to collect it and ended up waiting an additional 10 minutes for the meal to be packaged up, no complaints, always worth the wait.

5 minutes drive home and everyone was excited- UNFORTUNATELY all 12 of the lamb cutlet were a disappointment- they were not fresh, clearly badly reheated and still cold.

When I called to ask what had happened I was told the lamb cutlets were cooked at lunchtime and reheated for the evening service.

I said we had never had an experience like it and would confidently say there was never a sign of the lamb cutlets being reheated before.

The offer to return the entree during our dinner was not an option because our guests were on a tight schedule and the following courses would have been cold too.

I will certainly be asking if the lamb is fresh in the future because this was the worst meal we have ordered.
