Regal Restaurant — Restaurant in District of Belconnen

What a vibe this place had. The night we came in there was a huge group takeaway orders and tables to fill and the service was just top notch friendly and as run off their feet as they were still shared smiles everywhere. We got the Regal chicken special and a combination egg foo yong or omelette to some. The omelette was so hot fresh and yum when we got home it was as if it came straight out the kitchen still and we love 12 minutes from the place. It didn't get much look in as it was gone the minute my husband opened it which is a great sign. The regal chicken was delicious. Crispy fried chicken with a fish sauce based dip and it did not disappoint. I was originally after a chie mein but I couldn't get past reading that on the menu so I got it and I'd get it again as that was very very delicious. While sitting g there we met a local and he told us he had been going there for some time and recommended any dish on their menu including black beans steak if you like that, the salt and pepper squid and also he said the rices are nice too. So will be returning. They are closed Tuesdays and there is parking out the front. Dine in and take away also available and phone orders. Sorry didn't get any pics but...

This is the 3rd time I've ordered take away and it's been terrible. Was told we could swap dim sims for spring rolls in a pack, still came with dim sims. We were told the wait would be about 30 mins. Stayed out the front and checked a few times after about 30 mins. Was told it wasn't ready. Waited another 20 inside the restaurant, no one brought any food to the counter while inside yet the food had actually been sitting in a thermal bag on the bench for so long it had gone cold. The spring rolls were burnt and soggy, and the other dishes were bland. I've dined in here multiple times and the food is always delicious eating in. It's a pity they don't seem to take as much care for the take...

It truly surprised me. We were wondering about visiting this store for a long time, but were worried because of the reviews others left for this restaurant. Finally decided to try it out and all dishes were perfectly made. It should be how Chinese cuisine tastes traditionally. Guys, plz try to be nice and real. We have been in Canberra for more than one year and haven't been to any place that owns the same traditional flavours in our memories as this store does. BTW, we ordered Fish in SiChuan Sauce, Shredded Pork in YuXiang Sauce, and Salted Fish Bean Curd Hot Pot. Will be back for all other expectations and...
