Wish I could give this cafe a zero star review. My experience there was absolutely awful. I saw a post they made on Instagram advertising a bacon and egg roll. It looked great, with layers of juicy bacon, and I was keen to try it. As soon as I got there, the service was awful, staff were unfriendly and it took them over half an hour to make 2 bacon and egg rolls, keeping in mind it was 9am on a weekday and the cafe was nearly empty. What we got was 2 rock hard pieces of bread, with one measly piece of bacon and an egg on it. It looked nothing like the photo they posted on instagram, and the chef had the balls to tell me I ordered the wrong thing, when clearly they were both bacon and egg rolls (the caption on the photo clearly stated this). The chef agreed to add more bacon to one of the rolls, but not the other, and offered no apology for the long wait time, or the misleading bacon and egg rolls. They tasted horrible, could barely chew through the hard bread, and the bacon was old and tasteless. I can't believe we paid over $12 for 1 of them ! Absolute rip off. Furthermore we experienced stomach pains soon after eating them and realized we had gotten food poisoning. I tried to get in contact with the cafe about this but they were no help whatsoever. I would not recommend this cafe to anyone, unless you're willing to put up with unfriendly staff, long waits, overpriced disgusting food and a visit to...
Read moreI've never posted publicly about a cafe especially being a small business in a tough COVID environment however... Yesterday a friend & I entered this cafe with a Support Dog "Lottie". As you would expect, Lottie always wears a bright yellow vest to ensure people are aware of the situation. My friend walked up to the register to order breakfast for herself and I. The waitress seemed friendly enough however another employee walked up to the register and covered the EFTPOS machine with his hand to stop my friend from paying. He then told her that we could not dine inside the cafe with the dog. She explained it was cold and wet outside (it was incredibly heavy rain). He insisted that we could not dine inside the cafe even though my friend tried showing him her Accredited Assistance Animal card. Such a terrible experience.
On the bright side, we walked to the Local Press Cafe (in the pouring rain) and the manager welcomed us with open arms. Delicious food and lovely people at the...
Read moreWe waited at least an hour for our meals. I had the Aegean breakfast which I think was a special (2 fried eggs, flatbread, cucumber, olives and feta instead of haloumi since they were sold out). However, it had poor presentation and was certainly not worth $18.50 as I could do it myself. My friends waited even longer for theirs and they ordered a kids' fish and chips and the trout for lunch. I had to remind them twice about our food. The gingerbread latte I ordered was delicious but they had run out ingredients for the juices my friends wanted. In fairness, my friends did turn up a bit later and they were understanding of that. The only thing decent was the patience the staff had as well as the layout of the place otherwise it was way overpriced for the quality and waiting time for meals. My advice would be to go somewhere else to eat; I...
