Words can hardly explain the experience my partner and I had at the club tonight, but Iāll try. It started with being told to āwaitā when I got to the restaurant counter to order because the waitress was trying to figure out where her table was. A little rude, but fair enough. I had a beer while waiting for the food, it was gross. Do you guys clean your lines? The garlic bread came out as two large lengths, totally unreasonable sizes. Why donāt you cut them into three, or even just halves? The pizza that I ordered was obviously a cheap frozen option that the kitchen staff either couldnāt be bothered to cut it into sections, or didnāt have the strength to do so. It was a bit tough so I guess theyāre to be forgiven for that⦠My partner had the ābarramundiā. The fish was inedible. It was obviously deep fried from frozen, absolutely disgusting. I donāt expect much from club food, but to be given something so significantly worse than what I could do at home is disgraceful. Iāve had McCains pizzas that run circles around what I was given. For the first time in my life I considered asking for my money back, and also asking for a refund on my membership as I had just signed up tonight and after this, donāt plan on coming back, but I didnāt want to give the staff anything else to do as they were all clearly struggling with a nearly empty club⦠I wanted to give this place a shot because Iām an AFL fan and thought itād be nice to have somewhere to watch a game or two. Back to the Raiders I guess, I can watch replays at home š¤·āāļø 1 star is too generous but itās the lowest I can select....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreJoined the new club last night! There was total confusion about whether customers were 'allowed' to bring their food into the sports bar. We were advised by the bistro manager that staff will not walk food orders to customers sitting in the sports bar and that food was not allowed in the sports bar. Then we watched as another table consumed their pizza in the sports bar! What's the go? I can't believe that paying customers wanting to enjoy the footy will not be catered for and served directly by the club staff on duty. We then enquired if the club had chip machines available. No they don't. Where is the RSA responsibility to ensure that customers have something to eat while drinking? This needs to be addressed quick smart if The Gungahlin Club wants to have customers regularly attend their facilities! Not everyone wants to sit in the bistro to eat.....especially when the footy is on! Further, I hope the club will address the outdoor smoking issues! It was freezing cold and raining and customers had to stand outside without overhead cover while trying to have a smoke! Extremely uncomfortable and unfair on paying customers! Hope this issue is resolved soon too....or I won't be going back as I prefer to be comfortable and protected from the weather...even though I'm a 'nasty smoker'. Smokers...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe club goes for a modern look but it just seems to lack any soul in the uninspired decor. The really big TVs make for good live sport viewing. The restaurant is set out like a cafeteria and with half of all tables reserved for bookings and the other half walk ins you'd think it'd be managed well. Nope! Tables booked for 730 were left empty from 530 and patrons made to wait or turned away from the restaurant. The menu is a very simple club menu with nothing special standing out. Prices are very steep for a sports club (24.95 for a schnitzel). The Angus burger was nice but nothing special compared to other venues; the chips were slightly undercooked and generic. Lining up to order was incredibly slow with only one person taking orders and many persons visibly frustrated at how slow the process took. The club has only been open 3 weeks however I struggle to find reason to go back with old faithful The Lakes Club still going great, and even The Raiders Club ranks above The...
