The worst experience I have had in recent memory. Extremely rude service (I have never felt more unwelcome) Bad and overpriced food Misleading information.
To start it's worth noting the website says "family friendly", claims to have a breakfast menu, and to be open from 7am. The opening hours are also printed on the door saying 7am. We arrived at 11 and were told the kitchen did not open until 11:30. We decided to have coffee while we waited. We were then given a lunch only menu.
The manager/waiter had a bizarre attitude, as though he thought he worked at the Ritz and had VIP celebrity guests arriving soon that he was far more concerned with serving than us. It truly felt like there was something wrong with us and we were not the kind of cliantel he wanted to bother with.
While ordering someone asked the size of a meal and I caught him actually rolling his eyes, and silently/mockingling grinning. I can not believe this actually happened, but it did. I called him out on it and he apologized, but damage done. It was genuinely hurtful and inexcusable customer service.
When the food arrived the serving sizes were small, especially considering the high price point. The salmon in the poke I'm sure comes out of a packet, and the rice was not even cooked properly. The rice!
The barista and a female waiter were friendly and competent, I have no...

Only two beers on tap. Limited bottle selection. They run out of popular drinks on a busy night, in this instance was before a long weekend and before 6:30pm (last time was a Friday at 6:15pm - suboptimal).
They do not serve schooners or pints, just a pathetic glass with a stupid name they are trying to make trendy and is only 360mls.
I would steer clear of this place in future, however, if you want what is a perceived or trying to sell 'classy and I'm trying to impress venue' in Woden, well this is it.
Unfortunately. I want this to be one and a half star (giving two because the bar people were lovely, bar the guy with a trick hair cut and beard who wouldn't allow the girls to just be alone and do their job. Micro managing much!!!!).
Background information for this place is it is partly owned by Abode and two others that aren't worth mentioning because of the above reasons. Won't waste more time on this joint.
Abode is not the most comfortable place to stay and is also wanting to be in a better weight division. But it just can't.
Go and experience on your own, I'd be surprised if you give it more than three stars. Because I believe it could be there, but it just isn't good. Smoque beforehand could get the same...
Read moreIf you're on the hunt for the best Aussie breakfast, this spot absolutely delivers. I recently tried their Big Breakfast and was genuinely impressed by both the portion size and the speed of service. The food came out quickly, and the staff were friendly, attentive, and made the entire experience smooth and enjoyable.
The Big Breakfast itself is exactly what you’d hope for when craving a hearty start to the day. The bacon deserves a special mention — it was generous in portion and perfectly cooked, crispy yet still juicy, which really set the tone for the whole meal. The toast, sausages, and grilled tomato were also fresh and delicious, making it a well-rounded and satisfying plate.
However, the only slight downside was the poached eggs. They were unfortunately overcooked, with yolks that didn’t have that nice, gooey centre I usually look forward to. That said, it didn’t ruin the meal by any means — everything else was flavorful and satisfying enough to still leave me happy.
Overall, the combination of quick service, great value, and high-quality ingredients makes this place a must-visit for breakfast lovers. I’ll definitely be coming back again soon — hopefully, next time, the eggs...
