Bungalow Neighbourhood Social — Restaurant in Dunsborough

I don’t usually do reviews. But I thought I would share my experience when dining at Bungalow Neighbourhood Social.

When i arrived it wasn’t clear where to go and staff seemed less than interested to greet or direct me. After sitting down the menu lead me to believe that I was dining in a high end Italian cuisine. Sadly, not the case.

I ordered the wagyu steak and my friends ordered porchetta with a side of croquettes.

The croquettes came first, were cold in the middle and hadn’t been cooked long enough. Disappointingly floury and unpalatable.

The porchetta arrived and the string that held the meat together was still wrapped up in the meat. The roasted potatoes were dry and over cooked, and others undercooked.

The wagyu steak arrived and was unfortunately too tough to cut with the butter knife I was given. I couldn’t eat the $38 steak because it was too chewy.

Not even the cocktails could redeem my experience unfortunately. We ordered two dark, hot and steamy’s. over priced, unusual flavours and far too much alcohol to handle.

All three of us weren’t expecting the ritz but we have never walked out of a restaurant after paying more than $120 on food and drink and not finished either…

We wouldn’t recommend...

Hello, i just wanted to provide some feedback about our experience at Bungalow social this evening. We are down south for our friends 40th birthday, we caught a taxi from Busselton and arrived to your establishment at around 6pm. There were some empty bottles in the taxi we used and went to dispose them before we made our way to the entrance. Your restuarant was not busy at all, however, as we approached your security guard told us we would not be entering because we were “street drinking”. We were cleaning the taxi, and he had no idea what sort of bottles we had. We are 8 women in our 40’s, who were coming to have some drinks and something to eat, and were happy to spend some money. We were not drunk or disorderly, nor had we caused any sort of trouble. I am so disappointed in the service we received and the fact that our night had such a negative start. We were beyond disappointed in the service on Friday night for a place we often visit when in Dunsborough. My boyfriend accidentally ordered our pizza without gluten free which we then paid for. After the pizza had already been made a female wait staff came over asking if I was coeliac because the main ingredient (meatballs) on the pizza was not GF. Even without being coeliac I still get very sick eating it. Not only was she unapologetic and rude about not asking if I was coeliac when paying for the pizza to be re-made, she was passive aggressive and we felt like this mistake was made out to be our problem by the staff member coming to tell us this. I believe this question should have been asked to my boyfriend when he was paying for it to be changed. I ended up eating just the base and cheese which was disappointing to say the least. The customer service was extremely poor, unacceptable and unprofessional. We will no longer recommend this place to others if they want quality service and a pleasant...
